The battle is bloody. The battle between the kingdom and the rebels didn't last very long. Dead corpses lies everywhere. The wind howls, rain fiercely falls none stop, and lightning crashes followed by a loud thunder. Flying ashes, smokes, and rotten smells of fleshes fills the cold air. The sky is crimson red, souls of warriors and villagers are no longer there.
A figure stands alone in the midst of the still field. An old man looked around, seeing nothing but lifeless beings drowned in their own pool of blood. Arrows, hatchets, and swords, pierces every body on the ground, merciless.
The old man walks over the lifeless ocean, passing through the piles of ashes of every burnt down houses. Very few remainings, still no signs of life. About to leave the sorrowful village, he suddenly heard a baby's soft cry. He turned around in wonder of where the sound came from.
He looked, and continues to walk towards the sound of the child's wretched cry. The sound came from under the remains of the bed. The man looked under the bed only to find a medium wooden box, beautifully carved with floral designs. There he found a crying baby as he opens the box, the baby looks up. The baby have soft, white skin and beautiful purple, lavender-like eyes. The lips are small pink and the hair is a smooth, light brown.
However, the child is not the only one he found. Around the neck of the baby is a golden necklace with a round pendant inscribed with a letter, "D". He also found a folded paper beside the baby.
He picks up and opens it, examines the note then realizes the letter has been written not too long before catastrophe came. The child gave a small cry and the man peeks over the letter to see the child. The child stops crying and stares unto him intently with its lavender eyes. He begins to read the letter to himself.
At least knowing the child's name and date of birth, he closed the letter satisfyingly, and decided he should keep it hidden until the right time comes when the child is all grown up and mature enough. He picks up the child knowing already it's a girl. He decided to raise her as his own since he and his wife doesn't have any children.
He stares into her lavender, cheerful eyes and said, "Destiny, such a fine name for this child. Suits the girl whose life is filled with fates and mysteries," The man held her gently into his arms, rocking side to side.
"This village is not only unfortunate, but lucky knowing there's a bright future ahead. The time of her avenge will come."
The man picks up the box with his available hand, thinking the box will be part of a perfect explanation along with the letter and pendant, then leaves the village behind feeling blessed.
While the old man is making his way home, a loud cry of anguish came from the castle of a different place. The man with armor is on his knees, coughing out blood. He is all bruised up, clenching his arms around his stomach where the man with the black masquerade mask kicks him hard.
"Please! Spare me time to explain milord!" The knight cough. The black mask man gives off another kick, this time on the back where he watches the knight fallen flat on his face. His smile breaks, enjoying the red color being spilled from another living.
Just when the cruel mask guy is about to make his final blow towards the fallen knight, the figure with a crown sitting down on the royal chair held up his right hand,"That's enough for now, Rade." Rade stops as been told, and walks towards the side of his master's chair. Four red eyes looks down to the helpless knight. The knight tries to get up on his one knee and bows his head down. A fist on the ground for support, preventing himself to collapse in front of his majesty.
"I told you to wipe out the lives of the village have I not? Especially the family who inherits the threat of my place!" The angry king's voice boomed across the room and the weak knight flinched.
"We did milord, everyone in the village have fallen along with the houses all burned down. What makes you say of what we missed when the whole village is dead?" The knight asked in fear. He looks up, seeing the king's eyes widened. He knew he messed up his role.
"What... Makes me say?!" The king held out his hand, having the knight float off his knees and into mid air. The knight grabbed hold of his neck coughing and gasping, as if a visible hand is choking him.
"Then why, do I still feel a strong presence of a mysterious power?! Are you sure!? You killed the WHOLE family?!" The king tightens the grip and the knight couldn't reply anymore. The knight dropped both of his hands and hangs in air, frozen. Furious, the king threw the dead body across the room. He stood up and pulls up his gloves, "Get rid of it Rade, don't want the smell to stink up my castle." The king walks towards the window, having both of his hands behind his back.
Rade bows and leaves the room with the body, leaving the king and his thoughts alone. He stares out his window, looking down on the town he ruled. Temper grew within him and one of the trees burned out of contact. He watch the citizens run away in fear.
Who? Just who could the threat be? He clenched his teeth.
