Nicole slams her hand on the alarm clock to deactivate it before it even goes off. She groans and looks over at the time: 5:59am. She sits up a little and looks around the room. It's a very modern type style. The room has plain white walls, a mix of black, silver and white items splash color into the room with the blue, pink, and dark purple accent colors. She blinks a few times before her eyes focus on everything sharply. After rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and getting out of bed Nicole walks to the bathroom and shuts the door to brush her teeth and take a quick shower.
Once she is fully wrapped in a towel, Nicole goes back inside the bedroom. She walks to the large walk-in closet and shuts the doors behind her. She looks around for all of ten minutes before she picks what to wear and throws it on. She looks in the mirror and smiles, that's good enough, she thinks to herself.
After nodding her head in approval one last time she walks out of her bedroom and heads to the kitchen. Quietly Nicole works to ensure she's careful not to wake Alice who's room is directly across from her own. She walks down the stairs and a little ways down the hall to the kitchen and starts to prepare coffee.
Not long after Nicole is in the kitchen, Alice wakes up to the sun peeking through the silvery curtains that adorn her windows. The light isn't too bright but enough to make her feel energized and ready for the day. Slowly she gets out of bed and takes in her room. Like any nineteen year old her cream carpeted floor is covered in small piles of clothes scattered here and there. Looking through the piles she finds nothing appealing to wear so she takes to her walk-in closet.
She soon decides on her favorite band tee, Sleeping With Sirens, and a pair of ripped up shorts to go with it. Alice steps into the bathroom for a shower before she starts the rest of her day. Once she is out of the shower she wraps one towel around her hair and another around her body. After she's dried off she puts her outfit on and grabs her make-up bag. Today seems like a light make up kind of day so she applies a subtle smokey eye, her black eyeliner, and black mascara. To finish off her look she puts on her black high top converse and walks downstairs to see her best friend sitting at the table eating.
Nicole takes a sip of her coffee and munches on a piece of toast, "Hey you, nice seeing you finally alive." She laughs before continuing to talk to Alice. "So how was your night?"
"It was fine, slightly restless though." Alice chuckles off the large amount awkwardness that she always seems to have. "How did your night go?" She asks, trying to continue the small talk.
"It went great, felt like I've never been asleep and it was my first time." Nicole laughs and shrugs it off. "Hey are you going anywhere today?"
"That's good!" Alice says with a smile before responding to Nicole's question. "No I'm not, thought I'd stay around the house today."
"Wellllll . . . " Nicole looks to see Alice's expression as she tries to smile innocently.
Alice looks at Nicole skeptically. Her plans are always crazy and range from partying to meeting boys. You never know what you're going to get with her. "Whaaaat?" Alice finally drags out. Making Nicole smile even more.
"Uhm . . . No more blood bags left, I finished the last one last night. I saw a report today on TV saying that a lot of blood was stolen from a local hospital . . . I've been there so many times it's risky for me to go . . . Would you- ?" Nicole rambles on to Alice but soon gets cut off. Having heard enough of her plea Alice immediately jumps at the suggestion.
"No. Absolutely not! I can't get involved. What if they catch me? There's no telling what they'll do!" She says stating suggestions and getting more nervous with each moment.
"Alice! You won't get caught . . . I'll be waiting outside in the back and if you get in trouble I'll be there in a split second! It's either that or . . . You get the point."
Even with her pleading eyes, Alice doesn't budge for Nicole. She pipes up again to give a more convincing argument for her best friend's help. "Please . . . It stops me from killing people. But if you don't want to do it, I'll just do it alone okay?"
"Ugh. Fine, I'll do it but if I get caught so help me you're gonna get it!" Alice says jokingly as she gives in to the begging. She knows Nicole can kick her ass in a heart beat. Even if she didn't, Nicole wouldn't let her forget it.
Nicole smiles and hugs Alice while repeatedly shouting 'yay!' until the urge to feed takes over and all she can think is 'hungry, hungry, hungry.' Quickly Nicole takes a sip of coffee to try and suppress the urge. "We should go now." She says and grabs her car keys and then adds, "Whenever you're ready."
"I'm ready now." Alice smiles slightly and grabs her phone from the counter. "Let's go."
They get into the Nicole's car and drive to the hospital, parking in a back parking lot that's close to an entrance. "Be careful. You go in, avoid security and doctors, don't act suspicious, just get the blood bags. I packed them right near the window. I'll be below where the window to the room is so all you have to do is get a whole bunch in your hands and drop them out of the window." Nicole smiles and takes a breathe, "I'll be there in a second if you're in trouble all you have to do is text me really fast."
"Okay. I can do this." Alice says, more for herself than for Nicole. She hops out of the car and walks casually into the hospital. She takes note of where all the security guards are as she heads down each of the halls. She reaches the room Nicole mentioned and immediately spots the blood bags Nicole was talking about. Quickly and effortlessly the window is opened and Alice looks down below to see Nicole's car waiting. One by one she tosses the bags down until they're all gone.
Quickly Alice leaves the hospital. She's almost out the doors when a security guard stops her out of nowhere. She begins to panic and all she can think to do is text Nicole for help.
