When someone smiles you mostly think that the person is happy. Well that doesn't always mean they are. They could be going through depression and you wouldn't even know.

Now to tell if a person is being genuine or not when they smile isn't exactly easy. I can't tell you the exact signs to look for but I can tell this: having an open mind helps a lot. Just being aware of what you say or do is best thing in the world!

Now some people almost never smile or smile just a little bit. But that doesn't mean they go through depression. Same thing with those who smile a lot. But those who don't smile as much are still probably good people so don't shut them out. Befriend many people especially the ones who look as if they feel uncomfortable or shy. Make them feel welcome!

Another thing, don't judge people right away. So what if the person's first impression wasn't the best. We're all not perfect ok?! Give others a chance like you would to a friend or family member. Some kids go through so much and judging them by their differences doesn't help at all.

And another thing! Why not instead of judging them get to know them. Befriend them. Before you judge a person think about how you would feel if you were shut out from the rest of the world. Just tossed aside like some piece of trash...an outcast to everyone and everything...all because you were different.

I know that feeling. I was judge for not acting like my gender, my hyperactivity, and my height. No one liked me except for about 2 people in my class. But one day after being pushed...again...I had, had enough. I stood up for myself and threw the person to the ground. After that they were impressed and respected me a lot more than before...that was about 8 years ago. I was young.

Being pushed around like some rag doll isn't fun. I hated it. But I learned how to tolerate things. Don't push others around. You don't know what they have or go through at all.
