Hello, I'm writing this book for those of you who would like to learn how to improve their writing, but I too am learning how to improve my writing so you will be learning along with me, I hope you enjoy. Here are some things I have noticed/learned about writing on Wattpad, not specifically just writing on Wattpad but some things have to do with it...
1. When you write a book using Wattpad or some other online writing and publishing system, I suggest you write the whole book before you publish the first chapter... Because then later while writing the next chapters you might think "If I change this in that chapter than I can do this and it will be even better!" But you can't change a story-line that's already published,(You can but it kinda sucks doing that :P) I suggest you write the whole book first before publishing chapters...
2. After you write a chapter, I suggest doing an over-look on the chapter a couple times, Re-reading the chapter to make sure you didn't make any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors... Maybe think about a better way to write certain things and add more adverbs...
3. If you know there is a word to describe something you are writing then look it up... I have done this tons of times (sadly) and it helped a lot... It makes your story grammatically correct and it also helps with the next time you need a word with similar or the same meaning... I might even start writing down the words I forgot in a notebook so if I forget them again I can look over the ones I forgot.
4. I suggest if you don't already, start reading often... It doesn't matter if you can't afford books, if you have a local library or any library you have access to then you're set(I'm pretty sure it needs to be public in order for it to be free)... Just get a library card and start reading! The point of this is that the more you read, the better your spelling and grammar gets and it will improve your writing skills, or that's what I hear don't quote me, it will also improve your vocabulary.
5. When you are writing something like let's say a fiction story or a fan-fiction... When you write down what someone said don't just use "He said" "She said" or "Said" all the time... Don't repeat it, use words like "He asked" Or "He questioned" and "She saw" "It read" "She acknowledged" "He replied" etc. It sometimes gets annoying when you read something and it repeats "He said" "She said" "He said"... Its perfectly fine to use "Said" often, just don't OVER use it, otherwise, it feels bothersome reading it.
Those are the first few tips and things I have noticed over time that could help a lot of your writing... I hope I helped and I will be adding more chapters as we go with more tips and tricks and maybe even about some differences between words that would help a lot if you don't already know them, so this book will have grammar, vocabulary, language arts for short... I hope you enjoy learning with me! Have a great day!!!
