Kyle slid the back of his hand against his forehead, he gave a heavy sigh, 'Shit', he muttered, breathing heavily, his long, hazel hair was smudged across his face and sweat dripped across the side of his head. The stench of oxidizing metal stung his teeth, the sound of footsteps left vibrations in the ground, the only light making the area see-able were four power-lamps projecting beams across the yard, bullets whizzing past every moment.
He was unable to continue running, he had ran, and ran, and ran, but his heart was beating faster than ever before, his naked feet were covered in scars and his aching legs were smothered in blood that had leaked from his shoulder.
'I give up!', he let out a silence breaking scream that echoed throughout the yard, 'I give up', he said again, except this time the shout to the soldiers was followed shortly after by sobbing. The marching stopped. The unloading of guns could be heard. A dark, croaky voice was heard, 'Huh', the dark-and-croaky-voiced man came out from the darkness, 'you are weak', the sobbing continued.
Kyle could see him more clearly now; a new light had been spread, just enough. Light, scruffy hair, a wrinkle-stained face, one of his eyes were completely white, it looked like there was more eyeball on where the iris and the pupil was supposed to be. He placed his hand that wasn't holding a cane into his leather jacket, he pulled out a gun.
He was laying on his back. Shaking. Crawling backwards. Flesh scraping of his back as he dragged himself across the sharp-stoned blanketed ground. The man with the cane slowly inserted a magazine into the pistol, cocked the gun and aimed directly at Kyle's forehead. Kyle was told that before one's death one's memories would flash before them; well, they didn't.
