Hey guys so little announcement before I the chapter. My first approach to this story has changed a little, but nothing crazy. I did change the cover and edited the bio a little bit, but besides all of that I hope you guys enjoy this chapter! :)

Lauren's POV:

"Avery you scared the life out of me." I said trying to catch my breathe.

"I'm sorry Lauren. Nurse Paige and I thought we'd play a little joke on you."

"Is that right Miss Page." I said looking over at her.

"I thought we could all use a little laughter." She said smiling at me.

"I guess I'm gonna have to get you back."

"You're on" Avery said smiling at me. She looked over at Miss Paige "Well start planning our next prank when she leaves."

"Yes we will sweety. Lauren can I talk to you outside." Paige said walking outside the room.

"I gotta get going Avery."

"Have fun at homecoming tonight."

"I'll try. Get some sleep, okay?" She nodded her head. "I love you stay strong." I kissed her forehead.

"I love you too. Be brave." I walked out the room,

"Sorry about that. Avery thought of the idea and I couldn't say no to her." Paige said.

"It's fine really, next time give me a heads up so I don't almost have a heart attack." I said letting out a laugh.

"I will. We were doing our regular check up on her and it looks like the cancer has grown. But her treatment is still continuing."

"What stage is she in now?"

"She's in the fourth stage." She said softly, I looked into her room she was sound asleep. She was only nine years old and her use to be brown hair like mine was pretty much all gone now.

"Lauren look at me. Avery is receiving the best care we can provide for her, I promise you. She's been battling this almost a year now, that little girl in there is a fighter."

"I know she is."

"Go have fun tonight, don't worry about Avery. She's in good hands okay."

"Thanks Paige." I hugged her and headed towards the exit.

------

"Hey how's Avery?" Georgia said when I sat down in the bleachers next to her.

"Her cancer is growing."

"Did the doctors say anything. What are they going to do?" Everyone in the stands stood up and began cheering; the boys were coming onto the field. Thankfully I didn't have to answer Georgia because I didn't know what to say to her. What are you suppose to say when your little sister has stage four leukemia. Everyone always tells you things will get better, but nothing was getting better Avery is only getting worse and I don't know what I'd do without her.

The buzzer for the scoreboard snapped me out of my thoughts. The soccer game was about to start and at this moment everything seem to stop because standing in the middle of the field was Hunter.

I watched him the entire game and no it wasn't in some creepy stalkerish way. There was still no score going into the second half.

this house, so I unzipped my soccer jacket. I walked into the kitchen and the smell of alcohol took over my sense of smell.

"Lauren you coming to the party tonight?" Maddison said.

"I'm not sure."

"Come on you never come anymore."
