Samara's P.O.V:

"Ahh, chachi please! I didn't steal it!" I winced in pain as tears streamed down my face.

"Chup! You steal and beyond that, lie!" Chachi continued hitting me with the black leather belt. My cousin, Sonia stood to the corner covering her mouth and giggling.

"Maa, enough for today. Save some for tomorrow." Sonia smiled. Chachi stopped and threw the belt to the side.

"Lie again and see the consequences." She grabbed my hair and pulled it back. She slammed my head to the locker and left me there.

"Chal Soni." I stared down as they both turned and walked away. I wiped my tears and helped myself up. I walked down to the basement, where I stayed when chachu left. I closed the doors and walked to my bed. I pulled my knees close and rested my chin at the tip of them.

I didn't steal Sonia's diamond earrings, I promise I didn't. I was brooming the floors when it came out from behind the drawer. I picked it up to place it back on the drawer just when Sonia walked in and she saw it in my hands. She started calling out for Chachi and then Chachi started hitting me and accusing me of stealing it.

It's been like this every day of my life. When chachu is around, chachi will treat me like her own daughter, even better than Sonia but when chachu leaves, Chachi will throw my belongings and force me to stay in the storeroom. She hits me every day with different things. Many times a black leather belt and sometimes a heated serving spoon. I put the picture back and walked to the closet. I grabbed the first aid kit and walked back to the bed. I started attending to my wounds when the door suddenly busted open. I dropped the kit and immediately stood up.

"I'm hungry! Serve food!" Sonia snapped crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yes Sonia, just give me a minute please." She glared at me with big round eyes.

"Maa!" She yelled as loud as ever.

"Sonia, I-"

"Maa!" She yelled again, this time a little louder.

"What happened?" Chachi came running within seconds. I looked down already knowing what was coming up.

"This maha rani said she won't serve food!"

"What'd you say?" Chachi walked closer to me. I took a small step back, but realized there was no where else to go.

"How dare you?" Chachi rose her hand and smacked me hard against my cheek which caused me to fall down. I placed my hand on my cheek and felt a scratch.

"You orphan! How dare talk to my daughter like that! Stay here and don't even try coming upstairs! I'm locking the doors and you are not getting food!" She tugged on my hair. She slammed my head to the side of the bed and then she and Sonia both walked out locking the door from outside.

Ahaana's POV:

I walked on the streets of Canada in the early morning feeling the cool breeze hit my face. My phone rang which snapped me out of my thoughts. I glanced at the caller id and slid my phone across the screen.

"Good morning Dr. Ahaana." My senior, Doctor Wiseman greeted.

"Good morning Doc." I smiled.

"Can you drop by the hospital if possible right now?"

"Anything urgent, Doc?" I asked a bit worried.

"I'll explain to you once you get here. Just come soon." And with that, he hung up. I quickly hired a cab and drove to the hospital St. Mary's, where I worked as a doctor.

"Hey Nancy." I smiled walking up to the reception desk.

"Hey Dr. Ahaana." She greeted in her strong British accent.

"Doc here yet?" I asked grabbing a pen and signing my name on the sign in sheet.

"Yeah, he was calling you in his cabin."

"Ok, I'll catch you later." I gave her a quick wave and started making my way to the elevtaor.

I knocked on Dr. Wiseman's door.

"Come in!" His voice called. I slowly pushed the door open and stepped inside.

"Ahh, Dr. Ahaana, come. I was expecting you." He smiled gesturing to the seat in front of him. I smiled back making my way to the seats and sitting down in one of them.

"Ok, so remember how I was telling you about maybe transferring you to London for a few months to fill in for someone as they weren't available." I slowly nodded recalling back to my conversation about this with Doc like two weeks ago.

"Simply, this is your trasfer letter to London." He said pushing an envelope towards me.

As soon as he said that,  I was surprised.  I was so excited but of course I wouldn't jump in front of my senior doctor.

"When am I leaving doc?" I asked.

"4 days."

"Is that all?" I stood up.

"Yes."

"Ok, thank you." I turned and left his cabin. As soon as I stepped out of his cabin, I ran down the stairs as fast as possible. Ain't nobody got time for the elevator. I practically ran out of the hospital and hired a cab home. I pulled out my suitcase and started throwing my clothes inside. London, here I come.
