This story, as well as the sequel which follows it, (yes, there's a sequel) are based on five sources. First, a lot of the main story is from "The Hobbit; or There and Back Again" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Quotes from the book(s) will be in singular quotes: 'example'. Secondly, "The Son of Durin" is also based on Peter Jackson's Hobbit Trilogy. Quotes from the films will be in italics: example. Thirdly, (mostly for the sequel) some of this story is from J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Fourthly, some parts are from "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Films" directed by Peter Jackson. And fifthly, my own imagination. Therefore, many of the comments and opinions are entirely my own. And any spoilers "can not pass."
