The Wedding: A Pinkiedash Short Story

The Wedding

It was a beautiful spring day in Equestria. A day made even more beautiful by Fluttershy and Discord's wedding. The rest of the Mane 6 stood beside Fluttershy and Discord, and family and other friends filled the seats. Princess Luna, Cadance and Shining Armor took the front row. Flowers dotted the walls and birds flew around the room singing their songs. The Smooze stood next to Discord.

Their vows had just been read, and Princess Celestia said, "You may now kiss the mare.".

Rainbow Dash held back the urge to make a gagging sound as Discord and Fluttershy smooched. Rainbow still didn't understand what Fluttershy could see in Discord, but she was happy that her friend was happy.

The Mane 6 all smiled with joy. Rarity cried, and Pinkie Pie jumped up and down squeeling. The crowd cheered and stomped the ground with glee.

As Discord and Fluttershy dis-embraced, Pinkie Pie pounced on her and the rest of her friends followed. Discord shrugged and hugged the Smooze.

"You've come so far, Discord," Celestia whispered to Discord. " I knew it was a good idea to pick Fluttershy to reform you." Discord smiled and gave a hug to Celestia.

The Mane 6, excluding the bride, stayed on the stage while Fluttershy and Discord went to talk to family and friends in the crowd.

Rainbow and Pinkie stood beside one another as Applejack comforted the crying Rarity, and Twilight conversed with Celestia.

"Y'know..Pinkie.." Rainbow Dash began. Pinkie looked at her with her usual Pinkie smile, except this time it was wider than usual due to the events of that day. She perked her ear up to let Rainbow know she was listening. "I've, well, I've kinda...had a thing for you for a while and.."
"Ooh a thing! Is it cake? Cupcakes?" Pinkie interrupted.

"No, Pinkie, not a real thing, but like a, you know, like a.." Pinkie turned her head to Rainbow, confused. "like a crush, Pinkie Pie. On you."

Pinkie's grin became as wide as it could be. Pinkie started shaking as she turned herself into a ball and bounced around the room, resulting in several gasps around the room. She bounced back into Rainbow and hugged her, squeezing her tight.

"Of course I'll be your mare-friend Rainbow! How could I NOT be? You're the coolest, most cutest, most awesomest pony around!"

Rainbow grinned and suffered through the discomfort Pinkie was causing her by squeezing her so tight, she didn't care. It was Pinkie! Pinkie was hers now and she couldn't be happier. It was a great day for everypony.

Pinkie let go of Rainbow Dash suddenly and grabbed a mic from Vinyl Scratch's things.

With a hoof around Rainbow, she announced into the mic, "HEY EVERYPONY! Check out my new special somepony!" Pinkie squeezed Rainbow tight against her side. Rainbow blushed as everypony cheered for them. Rarity started crying even harder.

The sun had set, and everypony had gathered outside in the courtyard. Vinyl was playing music, and everypony was having a good time. Rarity and Applejack approached Pinkie and Rainbow by the food table.

"I'm so happy for you two." Rarity struggled to keep back tears.
"Now calm down, Rarity, I think you've cried enough for one weddin'." Applejack added. "I'm happy for you two too. Maybe not as much as Rarity is though, but I'm happy. What a great day for love, huh?"

"Sure is, Applejack." Twilight said, standing behind them. "Congrats you two. Maybe your relationship will make the Elements of Harmony stronger?" Twilight chuckled.

Fluttershy danced with Discord with the crowd surrounding them. Fluttershy glanced at her friends, broke off the dance with Discord and headed towards them.

"Hi girls." Fluttershy said, taking her friends into a hug.
As the hug broke, Fluttershy looked at Pinkie Pie and Rainbow.

"Pinkie, Rainbow, you two make such a good pair. I'm happy the wedding was able to bring you two together." Fluttershy smiled, hugging just the two of them.

"Heh, thanks guys." Rainbow blushed a little. "But today is YOUR day Fluttershy, so go celebrate with your groom."

"Don't forget the cake Fluttershy!! There's still some cake if you want it! I can't promise it'll be there if you get to it after me.." Pinkie yelled to Fluttershy as she flew back to her new husband.

The reception was over, Fluttershy and Discord left for their honeymoon and Twilight, Rarity and Applejack headed home after Pinkie refused to let them stay and help. Rainbow Dash stayed behind with Pinkie as she cleaned up- taking down the decorations on the higher parts of the wall and ceiling. They finished up, and walked outside to head home.

"Hey Rainbow,"
"Yeah, Pinkie?" Rainbow replied, holding Pinkie's hoof.
"Do you think we'll get married like Fluttershy and Discord?" 
"I dunno, Pinkie. But don't be so fast, it'd be a while."
"Aww, but I like fast!"
"Oh, yeah?" Rainbow smiled, grabbing Pinkie around the waist and flying away with her.

"Wheeeee!"
