the sun was beginning to come up

the moon had already bid goodbye

she stood there in awe

admiring the christmas lights

spreading around the corners of her room

she didn't have the heart to turn them off

so instead the girl

fell to her doom

wanting to shine bright like the

multicolored lighting

she refused to keep on fighting

with her own self

leaving a note that said

merry christmas

she put a bow on her head

stranded yards of lights

around her porcelain neck

even after she took the last breath

she shined beautifully

it was a tragic death

but

the lights stayed on in her heart

until someone yanked the cord from the outlet

creating an electric spark

fire in her veins

water flooding out her eyes

it was a shame that not even

an ocean of tears could put out

the wild fire that had to eventually start
