We were in the nurse's office and the nurse was calling Phoebe's parents to let them know she needs to go home. I was so happy, Shawn and the other guy couldn't kidnap her if she was going home in a car. Then I knocked on wood hoping I didn't jinx her. "Emily?" She said in a questioning tone. In surprise I jumped up and grabbed a hold of a pencil to protect myself. She laughed and told me to calm down. I looked down at her and put the pencil back on the bookshelf where I had found it. Then, I leaped over to hug her. "You're squeezing me to hard." She said with a crunchy sound. I let go, "Sorry, I'm just really glad that you're ok." She smiled and sat up, "Can you get me some water? I'm really thirsty." I nodded my head and jumped up.
I was reaching to the door when I heard a crash and then a person yell. I wiped my head around and saw that Ms. Butts was laying on the ground with tears in her eyes. I turned around and got on my hands and knees, "You okay Ms. Butts?" She nodded. "Can you get me those bandages over there?" She pointed to the well packaged, unopened box of bandages on the third shelf furthest from the ground. I got up and scooted toward the counter. I put my hands on the counter and started to climb. First right knee, than left. I was reaching for the package when I heard my name being called. I slipped back and dropped, I couldn't breath. I was gasping for air when I saw the nurse smile. I glanced at where Phoebe was lying and she wasn't there. I looked at Ms. Butts and she was gone. I was alone, alone in the dark with no one.
I saw flashes of light and then a shock of pain. What the hell is going on! I tried to look around but I couldn't see anything just the peacefulness of the dark. Then the shock came again. I saw a flicker of light. Another jolt of electricity flew through my body. Dad? No, it wasn't my dad. It was someone else, but who? I couldn't make out his face. I heard whispers of people talking, but then it just went quite. Another current of electricity shot through me. I felt like I was on some kind of drug that made me feel so energized, like I could run a marathon in a minute.
In a matter of seconds, I felt another shock. This time it hurt like hell. I didn't feel like I could do anything except lay on the floor helpless and injured. My head was throbbing, my legs felt weak, I felt like shit. Then I felt a warming hand on mine. I tried to move it out of the way because I was scared, but I could barely move my finger tips. Then I felt the hand grabbing mine get tighter, but it wasn't painful, like the person was sad.
