"Hi, how are you?" She beams.

"I'm great and you?"

"I'm good."

It grew uncomfortably awkward, so I spoke up and asked Shelby to come with me to get the pizza and she appreciatively agreed. I'm not even sure if the pizza was ready, I doubt it.

"That was embarrassing." She huffed.

"I know, I'm sorry." I pouted, rubbing her back.

"It's whatever, I didn't think he was into me anyways."

"Well. It's his loss. You're beautiful, any guy would be lucky to have you."

With that being said, an all too familiar voice spoke up.

"Shelby?"

Her eyes widened, as if she just seen a ghost. But as for me, my veins ran cold.

"Jacob?" She whispers, barely audible.

"Wow, you've grown." He smirks. "And hello Kelsey."

I rolled my eyes, not even bothering to greet him.

"Still hates me I see."

"And always will." I fake smiled.

Shelby looked like she was going to shit herself, she hasn't seen Jacob in forever and she didn't plan on seeing him.

"What're you two doing here anyways?"

"Minding our business." I mumbled, Shelby elbowed me in my side causing me to grunt. "We're actually on a date."

"A date?" He seems surprised.

He looked Shelby up and down, which made me want to vomit. He was gross and I hate him so much.

"Yeah, what are you doing here?"

"Well, I was with a friend, but she's chatting some guys ear off."

"What's her name?" Shelby finally spoke.

"Danielle."

"Oh."

Was all she said before going back mute.

"So, Shelby, I know we ended off on a bad note but maybe we can hang out sometime and you know-"

Shelby laughed, she laughed so hard that almost snorted.

"Me and you hanging out?" She asks, calming down.

"Yeah, just catch up."

"Jacob, do you honestly think that after the hell you put me through, I'd just hang out with you?"

Jacob looked confused, but nodded. "Yeah? I didn't think It'd be a problem and I'm honestly sorry. I never meant to hurt you."

"You never-" Shelby cuts me off.

"Never meant to hurt me? Two or three weeks later you got with someone else and basically rubbed it in my face. You basically used me!"
