“It’s nothing special...” He sighed as he handed me a small silver box. I opened it up to a small, lustrous lock necklace. A smirk grew upon my face; not from the resplendent gift that I just received, but the fact that he actually bought me this. Luke, being the man of not so many words, the guy who won’t ask for something if he needs it, bought me something for my thirteenth birthday. He’d usually attend my parties with the excuse ‘you’re lucky I even showed up.’ followed by a sly grin, in order to get out not bringing me a gift. But this time he actually brought me something.

“My mom made me bring it. Considering I come every year with nothing, she thought I should show up properly this year.” the Blond fourteen year old spoke in front of me. I eyed him with an unconvinced glare and he showed off a smile, exposing his dimples.

“Well then, tell your mom I said thanks.” I said with a sarcastic tone as I hooked the necklace around my neck. I watched as he made his way over to my pool and joined the others around it.
