I quietly sat on the couch watching a silly show on the Telly, my mommy always let me watch it unless 'he' was home.

I heard the back door swing open, smacking off the wall forcefully, causing me to jump. Quickly I shut the Telly off.

"Damn it Jean! I told you to have dinner done by six o'clock." My father yelled angrily.

"I-I-I'm s-s-sorry.." My mother stuttered clearly terrified.

"I-I-I d-d-don't give a bloody hell." My father mocked, "When I say dinner better be done by six. It better be done by six." I heard him hit her. Not once. Not twice. Three times. The sharp noise resounding through the house.

Angrily he stomped up the stairs. My mother came out of the kitchen, sobbing. Standing on shaking legs. She walked over to me and got down on her knees in front of me. The tears continuously running down her face, fear and sorrow in her eyes. She used to be a happy women.

"Hermione.. Sweetie," she whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, "I love you.. You don't understand this yet, but I need to do this. You need to live a normal life. One where you won't have to be afraid," she sighed, "baby girl, I do not want to do this but I have to, I really want my little girl to grow up and live a happy and peaceful life. I am so sorry.." She hugged me tightly and lightly kissed the top of my head. She lightly stroked my hair and stood up. She pointed her wand at me.

"Mommy..?" I asked. She began to chant something in a different language. Sparks flew from her wand.

"Hermione, I love you."

Everything began to spin, my vision going blurry. The spinning making me feel sick. I was falling. I closed my eyes tightly, holding a teddy bear to my chest. I went completely unconscious.

October 15th, 1933 (7:20pm)

Finally the spinning stopped, I felt solid ground beneath me, after what felt like an eternity of spinning, falling, and blackness.

I opened my eyes, street lights above me. I was laying in the middle of the pavement, rain pouring down on me.

I was dressed in strange clothes, completely soaking wet, and absolutely terrified.

"Mommy..? Mommy?!" I cried out, wide eyed and tears falling down my face. I got no response.

I saw a man, walking down the street in my direction, 'Hmm.. He looks like one of those guys the neighbors call on a regular basis.. The ones that daddy doesn't like.. But he's dressed a little differently..' I ran towards him. I tugged on his pant leg.

"Oh my.. Hello darling.." He said, "Do you need something?" I nodded, "What might that be?"

"I don't know where my mommy is.. I woke up on the pavement.. I cannot find my mommy.." I said more tears trailing down my face, as I shivered.

"Okay sweetie.. Calm down, don't cry." he said hugging me, "What's your name? And how old are you?"

" I'm six.. My name 'Mione Granger.." I said holding up six fingers grinning, a few teeth missing here and there.

"Well 'Mione let's go somewhere warmer okay?" I nodded my teeth chattering and my body shivering. I took his hand and be led me to a shabby and lifeless looking building. A few yellow daisies lining the window and the path leading to the stairs.

Carefully he led me up the stairs, holding the open for me.

"Welcome to Wool's Orphanage, how may I help you?" A pretty women with chestnut brown hair and green eyes asked smiling brightly. "Oh hello there Carl.." She said blushing.

"Samantha hello, how are you?" He asked

"I'm quite alright.." Her eyes turned to me, "Who might this cutie be..?" She asked.

"She's six years old, said her name is 'Mione Granger.." He said looking at me, "She was left on the side of the road by her mother, sadly.." He whispered quietly.

"I see.." She sighed lightly, "So you brought her here?"

He sighed, "I did.. I had to.. You guys are her only hope.." She handed him a clipboard and a pen.

"Fill out what you know, leave blank what you don't know." He nodded filling out the first few pages leaving the rest blank, he handed it back to her here.

"Thank you." She said guiding me away. "Here you go sweetie," she said handing me a dingy uniform. A white blouse, with a green red and blue plaid skirt. As well as white knee high socks and black shoes.

I stepped into the into a bathroom changing into the clothes. I neatly folded my damp clothing the way my mommy taught me. A few tears rolled down my cheeks.

I handed her the clothes an she nodded her head and sent them down the laundry chute.

"Follow me, dear." She said leading me to the 'dining hall.' She swung open the doors and led me in. Politely she asked the cooks for a plate of food for me. She handed it to me and told me to take a seat.

My eyes got wide. I felt petrified. It felt as though the walls were closing in on me. I shuffled my feet to the closest empty seat and I sat down.

"Aye squirt, what do you think you are doing?" A tall boy who looked around eight years old asked pushing me out of the seat. "You cannot sit there." He flung my tray to the floor. The food splattering across the floor, tears began to roll down my cheeks.

I slowly began to stand up. My little hands tightly balled into fists.

"No one pushes me around." I said angrily, my eyes turning black with anger and my face turning scarlet red. The door swung shut, the window blinds flew down, and the lights went out. I could feel my smooth curly chestnut brown hair begin to frizz out as my anger continued to rise.

Slowly everyone coward back in fear, except for one boy, who looked about my age.

He looked into my eyes, a twinkle in his liquid silver and blue eyes. The most perfect blend of silver and blue I'd ever seen.

He was mysterious.. Dark.. Fearless.. Feared.. He was like me..

Excitedly he came closer to me, "You and I.. We are the same.. Yet different of course.. But the same.." Lightly he place a hand on my shoulder, the power and and anger subdued. The lights flickered back on and everyone scrambled out of the room terrified.

"I could feel your.. Presence the second you entered the room.. You and I are now friends. No one else but me. You are mine now. Oh.. By the way the names Tom. Come on I'll show you around." He smiled at me and grabbed my hand. Leading me out of the dining hall.

He showed me around the large building, he told me his room was right across from mine.

"If you need me, get me. Do not hesitate." He said. He entered his room and shut the door behind him.
