"I do not want to be the one to see the Hybrids this month." I grumbled with my arms folded across my chest. Our world has evolved, humans no longer rule, the supernatural have taken over. The world was now filled with naïve humans, filthy vampires, them bastard Hybrids and us, the wolves.
"Zendaya, I do not want to hear any arguments. Your brothers have all done it before." My father growled at me. He was the Alpha of our pack, the Moonstone Pack, my Mother was the Luna and two of our most trusted pack members carried the titles of Beta and Delta. Every six months the Royal Hybrid family expected a member from an Alpha's family and a member of the Vampire Pureblood family to visit their mansion and report on how our communities are doing, including life at the university. There was a university in between all four species; the human city, the Vampire clan, our wolf packs and the Hybrids land. The Hybrids forced everyone between the ages of eighteen and thirty to attend at least part time. For us supernatural creatures, we learnt about our history which was taught by Hybrids whereas the humans got taught their own mundane subjects. "This is no longer up for discussion Zendaya, please leave." My fathers eyes cast down as he continued with paperwork. I don't even know what he's still doing in the office, I know he's the Alpha but it doesn't mean he's obliged to work 24/7. I held my tongue as I turned to leave, he knew I hated the Hybrids, especially the Royal family. I shut the door behind me softly, I hadn't even taken a few steps outside my fathers office when the taunting voices of my older brothers pierced my ears.
"Is someone sulking?" Randal chuckled as he bumped my shoulder lightly. He was the joker out of all of us, tried to make the best out of any situation.
"You are supposed to be twenty-six years old, act your age for once Randal." I rolled my eyes at him as I descended the stairs.
"She is definitely sulking." Elijah laughed as he jogged effortlessly down the stairs beside me.
"Just suck it up Zee, none of us wanted to visit the Royal Hybrids but it is life. Deal with it." Bryce grumbled as he walked on my right. I rolled my eyes at them all, I was fed up with them being around the house, I'm surprised Elijah and Bryce hadn't chosen a mate yet after all they were the eldest at twenty-eight years. Bryce does have a girlfriend but I haven't actually seen her in a while, I hope she's well...
"Mother!" I shouted down the stairs. Bryce flinched away from me and growled as I practically shouted in his ear. I reached the bottom of the stairs and walked into our kitchen where Mother was preparing food for the She-wolves book club meeting tomorrow morning.
"Yes my baby?" She sung. My mother was part Spanish, I loved hearing her talk with the way she always rolled her R's.
"Tell my ghastly brothers to leave me alone." I frowned as I leant on the kitchen counter.
"Boys, leave Zendaya alone." She spoke not really paying attention to what I was saying.
"Mother." Bryce kissed her on the cheek gently, then Elijah and Randal followed suit.
"Mother, can you please try to talk some sense into Father?" I pleaded.
"Darling, we have to be fair in these situations." She looked up from her cooking book knowing exactly what I was talking about.
"Stop whining." Bryce growled as he left the kitchen and slammed the door shut.
"Jesus Christ what is wrong with cotton candy man today?" I looked over my shoulder, eyeing a vase that was wobbling slightly from the sheer force of my brothers dramatic door slam.
"Language Zendaya." Mother warned, we had a strict no swearing policy in the house, that didn't mean outside though, my brothers and I swear like troopers when we get mad.
"Girlfriend troubles." Elijah spoke up.
"Oh dear, I do hope they sort everything out. Anastasia is such a lovely woman." Mother sighed as she placed her baking tray in the oven.
"Can we get back to the matter at hand please?" I exclaimed. No one fully understood my sheer hatred for the family I'm being forced to visit soon.
"Zendaya dear, I think it is time you realised your age and deal with situations life gives us. You are twenty-four years old my child, you have not been to the Hybrid territory since you were eighteen, that was six years ago. Be respectful." Mother warned me in her serious tone. It is true that I did visit the Royal Hybrid family when I was eighteen but only to enrol in the university which was made mandatory.
"I do not think there is a way around this one Zee." Randal grinned from his seat on the side of the kitchen counter before attempting to take a cookie only for his hand to be slapped away by Mother making him instantly drop it.
"Now out pups!" She shooed us of the kitchen.
"I hate being called a pup." Elijah grumbled.
"I think we all do..." I commented before heading upstairs. I walked along the corridor and into my room. I had uni tomorrow morning and then the wolves have their public rugby match in the afternoon. My best friend Olivia and I had been going along to the matches for as long as we can remember, not only to support my brothers that participated and her boyfriend but because of Damion. He was the heartthrob of the pack and I'd had my eye on him a few times. Obviously he knows who I am, being the Alpha's only daughter and all but I think what scares wolves off is the fact that my Father is the Alpha and that I have three older brothers. I swear it's a curse. I grabbed my shoulder back and packed my notebook and a pen inside and some other essentials before dropping it on the floor and collapsing onto my bed.
I was hoping our team would win tomorrow so there can be a massive house party in someone else's pack, then I can try to move forward with Damion. I closed my eyes and thought of how fun the game would be tomorrow and that I get to spend the whole day with Olivia. However, unfortunately, the very last thing that crossed my mind was them damn Hybrids.
