The alarm on my phone goes off and I don't want to get up. I don't want to leave. Today is the day he sends me away. The past week has been amazing. I can't lose that. Then I hear a knock on my door. "Come in." I say just loud enough for the person outside to hear. The the door knob jiggles and the person enters. It's my dad. "If you get up, dressed, and the car packed I'll take you to the place where your mother and I met on the way there. We don't have to leave for a couple more hours, but Spangles said he wanted to show you something and take you for a ride or whatever that means. He said to meet him in the garage if you're interested." He says as I jump out of bed. That sold me. I go straight to the closet and pick out an outfit. I showered last night before bed so I don't have to worry about that. I slip on leather skinny jeans and a black and white checkered tank top. Then I slip a black leather jacket over my shoulders. I brush my teeth, put on some basic makeup like eyeliner and stuff and then I do my hair. Finally I lace up my white converse and I'm good to go. I grab my phone of the dresser and dart to the elevator. I click the button that has a capitol G for garage. When the elevator doors open I see two things waiting for me. One of them is Steve and the other is a motorcycle. "I figured since it's your last day you might want to take a ride." He says smiling. "That would be awesome." I say as he passes me a helmet. I slip it on. He sits on the on the machine and roars it to life. He pats the seat behind him and says "Hop on." I sit on the motorcycle still confused as to how this is going to work. "Have you ever been on a motorcycle, ma'am?" He asks. Normally I would hate people calling me ma'am, but it's really cute when he does it. "No I haven't." I answer. "It's just like riding a bike." He begins as I interrupt him by laughing at his pun. "Have you ever ridden a jet ski?" He asks. "I think I rode one once." I answer. "It's the same thing without all the waves. You sit right behind me and put your arms around my waist. You're going to want to hold on very tightly." He says as he pulls my arms around his waist. "Don't let go." He says as he takes off. At first I feel amazing, but then we hit a pot hole and I scream. I squeeze him tighter. He just laughs. "It's okay! I'm not going to let you fall!" He yells over the rushing wind. I begin growing more comfortable with the situation.
After a couple hours of driving around the city we drive back to the base. As soon as we pull in we see my dad waiting for us. Steve parks and we hop off. "S.H.I.E.L.D. can be fun, but it's also dangerous. Your dad programmed all of our numbers into your phone. If you ever need anything at all you can call me anytime." Steve says smiling. "Do you even know how to use a phone?" I ask. "Not as well as you do, but I'll learn." He responds. I give him possibly the biggest hug ever. I don't want to let go. I can't leave this place. These people are my family. "This isn't goodbye. I'll see you soon. I promise we'll see each other again. I always keep my promises." He says squeezing me and then letting go of the hug. My dad and I hop into the elevator and he clicks the button that goes to the roof. When we get to the top my dad climbs into a helicopter. "There is no way I'm getting in that thing." I say taking a step back. "Don't tell me the brave Dylan is afraid of heights." He says putting on a headset. "Shut up." I say reluctantly walking over to the passenger side and hopping in. I put on the headset while he clicks some buttons and flips some switches. The helicopter starts to lift off of the roof. "I don't want to go." I admit. (Sorry if I triggered any Doctor Who feels...) "I know you don't want to leave, but it's for your own good. I wouldn't be a very good father if I put you in danger. There are some very bad people doing very bad things right now and I just can't lose you. I promise you, you will see this place again. You can come back anytime you want, but you can't be here right now." He says taking my hand. "I know. I know." I say sighing. We land. Where are we? "Are we there already?" I ask confused. We're still in the middle of New York. "I made you a promise remember? That little dinner across the street is where I met your mother." He says pointing. We hop out and walk outside. We wait to be seated, but my dad requests a specific booth. I don't know why. We sit down and order lunch. "I was sitting in this exact booth when I met your mother. She was a waitress. I ordered my drink and when it came your mother was the one carrying the trey. She tripped over the leg of the table and dropped the trey, breaking the glass and obviously losing the liquid that was inside of them. You're mom was really clumsy. I rushed to help her clean up the mess. We both rushed to grab more napkins off the table at the same time and we banged our heads together. As a bonus I banged my head into the table. We just laughed it off. Your mother's smile was beautiful. It was magic. I got two things that day. One of them being a concussion and the other was the phone number of a beautiful, clumsy waitress. That to this day was still one of the best moments of my life. Right along side the day you came of course." He says smiling. I smile too. "I thought you didn't know I existed." I say. "I knew, but I forced myself to forget because I had to leave behind my amazing wife and my beautiful baby girl to save the world. Your mother kept you a secret to my family and changed your names." He tells me "What happened to the rest of my family?" I ask. "Your mother was adopted so she never knew her family. My side of the family is now dead. It's just you and me." He tells me. "What was my name before it was changed?" I ask. "Margret, Maggie, Stark." He says with a slight face of disgust. "I personally like Dylan much better." He says laughing. I start laughing aswell. "Yeah me too." I say and continue to laugh. For once since the accident I think I'm actually okay.
