A/N Okay so this is my first story. I'm telling you now that there will be strong language, lgbt and triggers (including self harm) so if you are uncomfortable with that then please do not read this. Actually, I you're uncomfortable with lgbt then what are you doing with your life? Accept everyone! Love wins! Umm... Yeah... I'm not sure if the will be any sexual content yet, but if there is I will inform you at the start of the chapter. Also, I apologise if I sound like a bit of a posh twat. I can't help it. It's just how I write and talk.
I woke to the sound of the clock in the hallway screeching like a banshee. Or a dying cat. Or an over-excited fangirl. (guilty) I don't know why my parents thought it would be a good idea to buy a clock that has a different bird's call at each hour, but apparently they thought I would appreciate being woken at 6 every morning by a "barn owl". Seriously, we live in the country, and I can tell you that if a barn owl sounds like a cat being massacred by some chainsaw wielding maniac, then it should probably be put out of its misery.
I groaned and stretched, and then rolled out of bed. Literally. I hadn't realised quite how close to the edge I was. You'd think I'd have noticed by now, but still, every morning, I rolled out of bed and hit my head on the same chair and ended up in the same cramped foot and a half wide gap that I had between my bed and wardrobe. Thank you genes, I appreciate the clumsiness you have gifted me with.
Shaking my head, I slowly got up and walked to the kitchen, proceeding to search for something that I could actually eat without wanting to claw my own face off. In the end, after seeing nothing of interest, I settled with an apple and flopped onto the couch in the living room, sighing loudly.
"Morning Poppet" Said Dad, wandering into the room in his underwear and over to his phone. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Hello male being... and male being's chest hair" He blinked at me a few times and then chuckled, walking back to his and mum's bedroom. Calling over his shoulder as he went, "I know it's a Tuesday, but try not to kill anyone at school"
Ugh. Tuesday. I hadn't even realised. It's my worst school day. Maths, Biology, Physics, Philosophy and Ethics, and Religious Education. How did I manage to get a day that would kill my brain so badly? And why did I think it would be a good idea to take an AS level at 15?
My mind wandered to Jack, as usual, and I automatically picked up my phone to text him, putting some music on at the same time, deciding that it was the only way I would get through my Tuesday without having a breakdown. I knew he had a boring day at college today anyway, which was why we usually kept up a conversation, to prevent either of us from killing any of the idiots in the world, even though it would be provoked and they would technically deserve it.
After half an hour of listening to music and talking to my perfect (male) best friend, I realised that I should probably get ready to pick up Hannah, my other best friend, and mentally prepare myself for what society calls "school". Personally I prefer "hell" but hey ho, what can you do? Society isn't exactly an easy thing to change.
I got dressed into my horrible school uniform, with its choking shirt and tie and stupid blazer, put my earphones in, thanking scientific evidence and DNA (I'm an atheist, sue me) that music helps us to ignore the idiots, and set off out of the door towards Hannah's house.
