2: The Sorting Hat Literally Reads Minds

Law's P.O.V

They awkwardly stood at the back of a group of younger students a lot smaller than themselves. It might've been annoying and unnecessary but a teacher was separating them from going near the first-years as if they were some sort of threat, so at least people wouldn't assume they were first years.

They learned about the sorting hat, houses, etc. and Law knew that ravenclaw suited him best, but he did not want to he sepperated from Luffy for most the year. No one else seemed like they were gonna befriend him, and Luffy was a really cool guy. The sorting hat line moved on, and rather quickly it was down to Law and Luffy.

Luffy went first and was sorted into gryffindor, but the applause was considerably less enthusiastic. Now Law wanted to be sorted into that house even more. He couldn't leave Luffy alone with those jerks. He stepped up and the sorting hat was placed on his head, and then started speaking some nonsense in his head.

"Gryffindor!" It finally announced. Law should've realized this sooner. Its not like the rest of the houses were idiots, Ravenclaw was just lacking in other traits and higher in knowledge. He joined Luffy who was smiling at him, ignoring all the unfriendly looks both of them were receiving.

They were all walking towards the grand hall when Law noticed someone from the gryffindor group who looked rather confused go the wrong way.

"Oh, um its this way." Law said.

The guy turned around and followed the group once again, staying next to Law. He had short green hair, and a scar over his right eye.

"Thanks." He said.

"I'm Zoro, by the way. You guys must be the new kids, right? Like, the new seventh years?" Zoro asked.

"Yeah." Luffy said, joining the conversation.

"Everyone's been avoiding you guys like the plague, but you don't seem like 'bad news' or whatever the hell everyone's gossiping about." Zoro added.

Law liked this guy. It wasn't completely because he wasn't avoiding them, but this guy didn't seem like the type to care about rumours and labels. That's plus one person who was decent.
