"Hey, how much are these shoes?" A sales representative walked up to Zoe, looking where she was pointing.
"The Nike's?"
"Yea." Zoe started chucking and glanced back at me, I gave her my hardest glare. "You know," She started to speak to the Sales representative, glancing at his name tag, "Tyler, my friend's name is Nike." A hand waved back toward where Liam, Cole, and I were standing.
Tyler's mouth raised up into a smile. "He must be a nice guy, the shoes are the best."
I walked up to her side. I plastered a fake smile onto my face. "Hey Zo, getting some of my shoes?" Tyler's eyes went wide.
"Hey Nike, I was thinking about it but... " she turned her body towards me. "This Tyler guy is being so rude towards you. I mean he called you a guy." She turned to the exit and sauntered out, Liam and Cole following her.
"Hey, I am so so sorry, I didn't now..."
"Dude really, it is no big deal. She only does this to bother every employee that walks through here." I gave him a pat on his back and followed them into the main mall. I had to run to keep up. I looked ahead and saw that Liam and Cole were following Zoe like puppies. Sometimes I wonder why I'm friends with these people, let alone dating Liam. None of them are really my friends, they are their own little group, with me, the fourth wheel.
"Nike! Catch up!" Liam was looking back at me with sparkling hazel eyes. I fastened my pace to a jog till I caught up to Liam, who had stopped and waited for me. Together we ran to Cole and Zoe, who were entering the Buckle. The boys headed to the left of the store while Zoe and I went to the right.
"I actually need some new shorts." I glanced over to the clearance rack, laying my eyes on some 20 dollar Miss Me shorts. I took a step towards them, only to feel Zoe grab my arm and pull me towards the full price Miss Me jeans.
"Well, I want some new jeans."
One pair, two pair, three pair... On the fourth pair she tried on, I told her that they made her look fat.
"What?" Her puppy dog eyes and pouty lip came out.
"What size are they?" I placed a hand on my hip, prepared to be right on my assumptions.
"A double 00..."
"You are a 03, no wonder it took you 15 minutes to put it on. Any size that is way too small for you will make you look like you oompa loompaed." Zoe laughed. At the same time, the clinking of metal against metal sounded from the front of the store. I poked my head around the door that separated us from the rest of the store. The metal gate that's over the door was sliding down.
"Oh, sorry did we stay too long? We'll be out in a couple minutes, sorry to be inconvenient!" I shout towards the front as I gesture towards the dressing room for Zoe to change. I glance at my watch, it's only 3.
Liam shouts back, "Haha! We so got you! Guys just come out here!" His voice wavered. That's Liam for you, always joking around and wanting to make everyone freak out. Zoe glared at me, then broke a smile and rolled her eyes.
"I'll be out in minute guys, I'm gonna change into my own jeans!" Zoe yelled. Standing in the small hall she quickly shimmied out of the size 00 and pulled on her jeans. The whole time I was leaning against the wall shaking with a muffled laugh. Zoe crumples the jeans and throws them into her dressing room, then loops arms with me and we walk around the separation wall.
A small voice comes from the corner that is diagonally behind us. "You two lay down on the ground, hands outstretched in front of you."
"Ha ha, good one Cole." We turn for me to raise my eyebrows at him. At the scene in front of me, I froze. The store manager, Sprouse, was holding 2 semi-automatic pistols, one to each of the boy's heads. We went to school with Sprouse, he was always the kind kid who sat in the back of the class. But now he is pointing a gun at both of our friend's heads.
"On your stomachs." He repeats. I get onto my knees, raising my hands to my head, while Zoe practically does a belly dive. "Lay down!" He shouts at me, his voice quivers. I slowly lay down, always keeping my eyes on Sprouse, and I try to keep calm. He meets eyes with someone behind us and juts his chin towards us. Is this person going to press pistols into our heads? Are they someone we know? Someone we would have trusted? Mystery person comes and pats us down, a full body pat down. Well as full it can get when we are laying flat down. I silently pray thanks to God for reminding me to put my swiss army knife into my bra this morning. Rule #9 - Never go anywhere without a knife. Sure this isn't NCIS but Gibbs rules apply to anyone who cares enough to listen, and I care.
"We don't want any trouble..." I say slowly, that's what people say in the movies when they're trying to not get shot right? "Sir." Show that they have authority, even though he is probably the same age as us. I start to panic, someone is pointing a gun at me, another at my best friend, while someone else is also pointing guns at our boyfriends. What. The. Hell.
A kick hits me from the side, hitting in my left ribs. I start coughing, curling into a fetal position. I glance towards the boys, Sprouse looks horrified with his accomplice, Liam is staring at me with blank eyes. Another kick lands onto my back and I flatten out again, the foot presses me into the ground. "Stay down." The person pressing me into the floor says, he appears to have a thick accent, but it is definitely not British, and definitely not someone I would know. I nod my head with squinted eyes, holding back tears. "Good girl." I can hear the disgusting grin on his face. "Now you and this other girl, place your hands behind your back."
To slowly turn my head to face my captor. His face curls into a twisted smirk. I focus on his facial features, his high cheekbones, the sunkenness of his face, and the shining in his eyes. His nose was crooked to the left, along with a small scar the bridge of it. His hair a flaxen gold, it spiked up and to the left. His face seemed to lean to the left. No wonder he was gazing at me with his head tilted to the right. Trying to even out his facial features out.
He leaned down, placing his hands on his knees. He blinked his eyes like a puppy. "Now are you gonna put your hands behind your back or will I have to put them there for you?" I held his gaze for a second more, then turned my head towards the ground again. Lifting my arms to behind my back I clasped my right wrist with my left hand. The cool metal clasped around my wrists, warmer hands squeezed them into my wrists. I could already tell I'd have bruises, and maybe if I move, cuts. I was pulled up off the ground and pulled towards that back.
Liam watched me go with silent tears running down his face, Zoe hung her head, she was now sitting against the wall, her hands also clamped behind her back. Should I fight back now, or should I wait for the future? Maybe if I pretend to be defeated they'll go easier on us. Wait, who knows when the police will get here. I have try and help me and my friends first.
I dropped my head, almost in defeat. Crooked Nose continues to walk me towards the back of the store. I slow my pace, lower my head more, my loose hair falls over my face. Crooked Nose runs into me, then pushes what I assume a gun into my lower back. "Keep walking." He growls into my ear. I give a shallow nod and take a long step forward. The assumed gun is holstered, this is my chance. Tossing my head back, like you see in the movies, into his face. The hand holding my arm releases and I turn around and kick his legs. He collapses, holding his crooked nose. His hand reaches for the gun that had fallen out of its holster, but I kick it away. Geez, who knew I could be good in the movie business?
"You bitch." He glares at me, a peek of blood drips down between his fingers. I smile, but in the moment I ravish my good stunt person doings, a metal object slams into my head. I momentarily have time to curse Sprouse to the lord before I collapse onto the ground.
Hey Guys! New story up! I'm pretty sure I'll stick with this one, and I will try to update every Sunday. Hope you are all enjoying the story so far!
