Nothing But a Thing

Intro

My name, is Kaylie Rose Martin, and I am quite unextraordinary.

Now before you think I'm just saying that to be interesting, let me give you a little preview of my life.

I live in a two story house with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. My mom and dad are a happily married couple and have been in love since they were 16. Cliche, I know.

My older brother, Mark, is Quarterback of the football team and is dating the head cheerleader of our school's cheer team.

My younger sister, Alison, is in the 9th grade, she's captain of her soccer team and is dating the Captain of the basketball team.

And then there's me. President of the Mathletes, Co-captain of my volleyball team, straight A student, and no boyfriend.

Now when I say I'm unextraordinary, I mean that I have absolutely no fun. And trust me, I'm not exaggerating.

I guess I can't really blame anyone else but myself for that. I only have one goal in life, and that is to go to Yale. I can't get there without complete focus, so I keep myself away from things that are distracting to other adolescent teens such as myself.

There is just one problem with staying away from distractions. 

Tyler Green.

Let's face it, you can't have a story without a residential bad boy having some kind of appearance.

But, we could all do without a Tyler Green.

Tyler is a rule breaker, obviously. But he is also a jackass, an imbecile, a liar, a delinquent.

He is also my next door neighbor.

Try living your whole life with your window right across from a total douche.

But hey, it's not all bad. It's kind of funny to see him get in trouble with his dad once in a while, but that's about it.

Oh I should also tell you, I only live by one thing, I guess you can say a motto.

When something bad happens, you just tell yourself this.

It ain't nothing but a thing.
