I woke with a start, jumping up. The sudden movements made my head hurt. I sat back down (was I sitting down? Could I sit?) and tried to summarize myself.
Wait, who am I? Oh yea, Memoria. What am I? Uh oh. Well, maybe I can ask around later. I looked at myself, apparently having enough of a neck to do so. Neat, long, tail feathers that curled like a ninetales. (What was a ninetales? Maybe I've seen one before.) The feathers split in the middle to reveal a long tail that spread into a fin. Closer to my body, rows of scales that reflected the stars ran up and down my body, only splitting around a pair of thin, nimble legs, which had a soft looking fur on them. A small pair of leathery wings were wrapped around me, but I couldn't seem to remember how to fly.
After I came to my senses, I  noticed other things. Above me were hundreds of beautiful stars that seemed to dance in the sky. Below me was soft, waving grass that rustled each time I took a step.
"Hello?" I tried calling out, but all I managed to make out was a hoarse croak. I hadn't realized how thirsty I was! I looked around for something to drink, but found nothing. I heard the almost faraway sound of water, a river more likely. I shakily stood, finding it surprisingly easy to walk on only two legs. I looked around again. No one in sight. I made my way to where I thought I heard the water.
Over time, I figured out I had enough energy to go faster, and if I went fast enough, the sound of wind passing around me could be heard. Soon, I was at the bank of the river, and the sound of it trickling was comforting. I felt wide awake, though, so I decided to grab a drink. The cool, flowing water tasted fine, and I could feel my voice slowly returning.
