Troye Sivan opened his eyes to the world.

'Shit,' he thought to himself. Another day, another struggle.

"I can do this," he said, throwing off the dirty bed sheets and planting his feet firmly on the stained carpet. The house wasn't the cleanest, but it was all he had. Although he could never consider it his home, what with that she-devil living there with him. No, for now it was just a house. That's probably all it would ever be.

"Where the fuck do you think your going, b-bitch?" She sneered.

Troye shuddered. It was only 6:47 in the morning, and she was already drunk as hell. Not that it was new.

Careful of what he said, Troye turned around slowly,"I'm only going to school, mom." Fake enthusiasm dripped from his voice. The forced smile disappeared from his face as soon as he stepped outside, into the crisp October air. Looking down at his gray jumper and black jeans, he suddenly wished he'd brought his jacket. Oh well, it's not like he would risk going back in there until the end of the day, when she would be passed out in her room. So, sighing for probably the millionth time in his life, Troye set off for school.

"What do you think you're doing, faggot?" Spat Ryan.

Troye sighed. One million and one.

"I'm not in the mood Ryan," he huffed.

"What, is the little prick scared? Do you need me to go get your mommy? Oh wait, she won't be much help, now will she?"

The words didn't have an effect on Troye anymore. When the bullying first started, it was hard. He didn't think he'd be able to deal with home life, and school at the same time. But eventually, the crude remarks stopped bothering him. Because a)he couldn't do anything about them if he tried. He was about as strong as a toothpick. And b) they were true. Troye was gay, there was no questioning it. But that didn't nessesarily make him a faggot. That part wasn't true. But the part about his mother. Those were all true. So instead of facing the truth, he decided to block it out instead. It was just easier this way.
