After standing around doing absolutely nothing for maybe 10 minutes, I decided to call Nancy and let her know about what happened. I pull my phone out again and dial her number. The phone rings twice and I expect her to pick up, but there is no answer. I sigh. Now what am I going to do? I think to myself. Just then, I hear feminine voices approaching me. They giggle and walk across from me. I turn to see who they are. My nose wrinkles in disgust when I spot the hideous popular 'queens' of our school, walking with their heads held high. Steph, Mikayla & Elena, quite possibly the most popular girls at my school, and the ones that flirt with all of what you would call "bad boys" Me? I absolutely hate their guts. Every single one of them. I turn and start to walk away, not wanting them to spot me. All of a sudden, I feel a strong pair of arms pull me back and cover my eyes. "Ahhh!" I scream. "who is this, get away from me!" I struggle to turn around and try to kick whoever is attacking me. This causes the popular queens to turn around and give me a digusted look. I quickly spin around to see Toby standing there with a smirk on his face. I sigh in relief. "Toby! What was that? You got me scared out of my mind!" He starts to chuckle. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I just have-" I cut him off as I see he's carrying my bag and I quickly snatch it out of his hands. "What did you do to my stuff? Did you open my bag? Did you touch my homework?" My school work was something I really cared about and I wasn't going to let Mr. Popular take over my stuff. He laughs again this time pulling my wrist gently and bringing it to his lips, giving me a quick kiss on my hand. I blush a bright red color, most likely looking like a bright tomato. I'm such a dork. "I didn't take anything, don't worry" he replies. I sigh in relief. At least now I know I won't have anything missing. Then there was a brief few seconds of awkward silence. I look up to see Toby's perfectly sculpted face, his jawline complimenting all of his golden features. I start staring at him like a freak, but he doesn't see me since his head is turned the opposite way. My luck, he turns around and catches me mid stare. I cough awkwardly and turn around. "Like what you see?" he teases. I groan. "No, in fact, I'd rather stare at the dull wall all day than look at you, okay?" I'm starting to get angry. "That wasn't what it looked like" he mumbles. I'm officially done with him. "Okay, listen up, I don't find you attractive what so ever, so if you're here to pick on every single move I make, thinking I supposedly "like" you, you can just leave. He looks confused and surprised for a split second. At first, I didn't think my attempt at a comeback was that well put together, but when I see the look on his face, I instantly start to grin, my smile taking over my entire face. Take that Toby Reynolds! "Alright, I'm done here, I'll see you soon" I start to back away and leave as far away as possible from him. "Violet" he calls my name. I keep walking, faster this time. "Violet!" I'm almost practically running at this point. I turn to see him running after me. I realize there's a flight of stairs in front of me, and I run up to the stairs as quickly as I can. I can hear him running behind me, almost catching up. Then, while running up the stairs, I trip on my own feet, and I practically fly down the stairs, getting injured on the way. I hear my whole body fall to the ground with a loud echoing smack. I feel my eyes close and I rest my head on the ground. Everything is dark.
