"Who are you?" I asked.
"Mumphis, the leader of the giants!" Mumphis said.
"How did you stay in this tiny space then?"
"I don't." Suddenly a large eye came down to look at us. Mumphis removed the rock. That's when we saw the eye, well his full eye. Just his eye blocked the whole tomb entrance. I got an idea, so I walked over to him, grabbed my knife and stabbed him in the eye.
His head went up right away. "Oww!" He howled, and then he had this foot in front of the entrance. I stabbed that as hard as I could too. "Owww! Candace Brown you shall die!"
I really did love my knife. "Guys, run to the back of the tomb or the deepest part of it. He'll think we ran out and he won't be able to reach us." I whispered.
So we ran. Sure enough there were tunnels. Just as we ran in one, I saw the eye (I think the other eye, because it didn't look pink) look in again. "No! Little magicians escaped Mumphis." We heard pounding feet.
"Keep going. He may be trying to trick us." So we ran deeper and deeper into the cave. We suddenly saw light. "Its way out." So we went.
The entrance had bushes all around it, so I doubted anyone was there, or knew anything about the entrance.
By the way, Remises' tomb also had jewels and gold in it, but by now we just wanted to finish the mission so we didn't really care anymore.
Once we exited the bushes we saw a city. "What?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah, what city is this?" Kendra asked.
"Let's go back in the tomb. I don't like the look of that city." I suggested.
"Agreed." Nat said.
So we all walked back into the cave. I hoped we wold be able to walk out and escape, but was we got closer, I saw a red eye almost swollen shut looking in. That was the eye I had stabbed.
I didn't think he could see us since we were so far in, but I wasn't sure either.
"Guys stay back," I said so quiet I Could barely hear myself. I pointed to the eye, "Invisible." I mouthed.
"Amarama," Invisible, we said together barely even in a whisper. I suddenly couldn't see myself anymore, but none of us knew where the others were.
"Grab each other’s bag or shirt if you don't have a bag and pull once you're holding on. I’ll be at the front." I whispered. I felt someone pull my bag and I got jerked twice more so off we went. Soon we were right by the giant's eye.
"I smell magicians. Where are they?" He asked. "I'll wait here for them to come out of my cave."
We took that as an advantage and slowly and quietly walked out. Unfortunately, I stepped on a leaf. I started to run. The giant would try to smash us if we went to slow, so we ran.
"Mumphis is hungry!" The giant yelled. "You would taste good, little magicians." That made us runs even faster.
Soon we were away from him, but we kept running and hid in the back of a mini forest. We also stayed invisible just in case. It was too risky to become visible again. My vision was fuzzy from all the running and my head was pounding.
We sat there at the back of the forest, for probably a couple of hours. "Okay guys, I don't think he's coming." I finally said.
I could finally see myself again, which was really nice after using the visible spell.
"Where do we go now?" Nat asked. "Obviously Remises tomb wasn't the right one. Think of famous pharaohs."
"How about King Tut?" Maddie suggested.
"Sure, he's probably the most popular Pharaoh of all times. How did we not think of that earlier?" Kendra asked.
"Let's go. I think I've seen a sign that had King Tut's name on it. I think he's in the Valley of the Kings." I said.
"Cool, let's go." Off we went. We made sure to stay far away from Remises tomb. As we were walking I started thinking why there hadn't been any tourists or workers around. Had magic kept them away since a mission was here? I guess I'd have to ask my parents that, when or if I got home.
Soon after wandering aimlessly, we finally saw some signs that led us to King Tut's tombs. "Guys, I think this is it." I said. We found a tomb and I could feel dark magic in it.
"Yep, this is King Tut's tomb." Nat agreed.
"I guess it's now or never." Kendra said.
"Wait guys, if we don't make it out of this tomb alive, I just want to say it's been an honour working with you guys on this mission." I said.
We all shared a quick group hug and I braced myself as we walked into the tomb that could be the place of my death, and I didn't know at the time, but the death of someone I loved.
