"Hey bitch", Lucy looked like she had had a long night, "Come in", she pulled me into her bedroom door quickly by my arm, like she didn't want anyone to see us. When I entered I noticed two humps in her bed, undoubtedly vampires, under the comforter. What had she been up to?
"That was a crazy good party last night, where did you disapear off to?", she sat down at her vanity and took her hair out of it's now messy bun, she began to comb through it. She looked at me in the mirror awaiting my response.
Sterling and I had promised not to tell the mushy details of our heart to heart, but Lucy was the one person that I told evevrything to. I went up to her and wispered in her ear, not knowing if the two vampires were actually sleping or not.
"Sterling and I were in the backyard of the ballroom. We had a conversation and we found out that we actually don't hate each other."
She turned around and looked at me like I was crazy.
"You've hated Sterling since you met him. Remember, when he came to live here when he was 12, when his dad became the head judge because the other judge...", she let her scentence trail off, looking a little sad that she'd mentioned Joseph's father. "Anyway", she began a new scentence, "I mean, it's not like it's a bad thiong, you will be spending more time with him soon.", she was putting her hair in a side braid and when she finished she turned around.
"Um, guys, you need to be getting ready for the brunch", she said to the two lumps in her bed. They instantly sat up and let the covers fall from over them. Much to my relief Lucy hadn't had boys in here at all, it was Wren and Serenade.
Serenade, Lucy, Wren, myself, and basically all of my cousins looked generally the same: black hair, green eyes. Their hair looked wild and out of place and they'd gotten in bed with their party clothes still on.
"Lucy can you do my hair, I want a cute up-do", Serenade was looking at Lucy who was playing with her nails.
Wren was staring into space, playing around with her amulet. Alll of the eldest children of my father and his brothers wore the amulet. The amulet is silver on the outside and has "Canter", "Almerin", and "Miranda" carved into it and in the center was a large emerald jewel. My grandmother had managed to have seven children, and all of them boys. Lucy, Wren, Serenade, Gregory, Jewel, and I had the amulet because they were our fathers. Beyla and Elya also each got one because they were twins, no one really older than the other, unless you counted minutes.
Lucy looked up, "Sure. Wren, you should be ready soon, right?", Lucy asked.
"Yeah i'll just take the passage to my dwelling so it will be quicker.", Wren assured her. Vampire speed or not, a girl had to take her time to look just right. With that they both got up from the bed, Serenade heading for Lucy and Wren heading for the door. I just sat down in an armchair and waited for them to be ready.

To keep up appearances I sat next to Sterling, Lucy sat next to Conner, Sara sat next to Greg, Joe sat next to Honor, and Serenade sat next to Sebastian. I didn't mind Sterling, he hadn't completely transformed back to jerk he was before, but he was kind of being rood to everyone else.
"You look nice today", he smiled at me, "So, uh, since we're friends now do you think you could introduce me to that hot Austrailian girl, I think her neme's Jenna or something.
I narrowed my eyes at him, "Don't you think it's weird that her name rhymes with mine?"
"Oooh, someone jelaous already? Don't worry baby i'm all yours, I just wanted to see what you'd say.", he flashed his perfect teeth in a smile.
I elbowed him in the rib under the table so that no one would see, I think a pretty brunette with curly hair noticed though because she smiled and then winked at me. It was either that or she was bi-sexual because she had a handsome guy sitting next to her with his arm around her shoulders. I smiled back politely.
The conversation was great. After a while we got up and walked around, mingleing with our guests, meeting people from all over the globe. The food was also great. I noticed that the visiting vampires only seemed to eat human food for the taste, so the tables were filled with sweets, candy, and the finest wines from across the world. The brunch went quickly and I found my self back in my room trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my day. I deided to go to Manhattan and just walk around, there was nothing else to do today but stay and entertain the hundreds of guests here. Lucy seemed to have that under control though. So I put on some jeans and a white t shirt, nothing fancy. I also put on equine boots that I used for horse back riding lessons, the durability of them was perfect for me to get around in with the speed that I sometimes used. I topped it off with a black trench coat. For my hair I just left it out, taking it out of the tight bun it had been in from earlier. I was ready to go.

Times Square looked just as busy as ever and I had the feeling that it was going to rain by looking up at the sky occasionally. When I got to W42nd I went into a little shop that seemed to sell everything and picked up an umbrella. It was satrting to get dark and I knew the perfect activity to do when you're bored, you're in a big city, it's dark, and you're a vampire.
Kind of a boring little capter to transition
