Scott's room was a mess. There were video games spread about and he hadn't made his bed. Wires were tangled in webs and there were crisp packets on the ground. There were various test tubes on the ground and liquids inside of them. Scott lived in his own filth.
Scott stormed into his room and immediately turned on his computer to look at the news. A headline read "Government killed another super." Scott turned off his computer in disgust. Scott wanted to have superpowers but unlike all of current supers he wasn't born with them. Scott looked at the test tubes on a rack and realised that all he needed to get superpowers was to heat the chemicals and inject them into his blood stream. So he grabbed a Bunsen burner and a syringe and proceeded to heat the chemicals then pour them into the syringe. He stabbed himself with the syringe.
Scott's mother called him down for dinner. The living room was immaculately cleaned. Scott's mother was a clean freak. It was hard to believe that the two were related. She started to tell Scott to clean his room. Scott shouted "I don't care, just stop." Then Scott tried to move his chair but it wouldn't budge. He asked for help but his mother just sat there, just still. Then Scott figured it out.
He had stopped time.
