"I'm on the last strand. I just need to separate the strands and fluff it out. It should take about a minute or two," she informed me.

"I can do it myself," I suggested. "You go hurry up and finish getting ready. I'm not leaving for another fifteen minutes."

"I hear the boys downstairs!" Candice shouted from the bathroom. "Mel are you ready?"

"I'm coming right now!" she called back before turning to me. "Are you sure you don't want to come with us?"

"It's fine Mel. I'll meet you guys later at the dance anyway. I still haven't even gotten in my dress yet," I laughed pointing to the towel wrapped around me. "Go and have a good time, I'll be right behind you."

Mel gave me an unconvincing look but she just gave me a small smile. "Alright, just be careful."

"I will. Now hurry and go before they leave you," I smiled. "Oh, and tell Trevor and Leo I said hello."

"Will do," she finally said before being dragged out by Candice.

"See you later Danielle," Candice called out. I gave her a wave goodbye and began to start fluffing up my hair.

After I finished getting ready, I noticed that Connor would be arriving soon so I took a quick glance in the mirror. I knew I had low self-esteem but I couldn't believe how amazing I looked. I had to slap myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming, of course I made sure to not smear my foundation that Mel had oh so carefully applied.

Once I decided that I wasn't dreaming, I went to make sure I had everything that I needed in my purse. Finally realizing that everything was in ship shape, I headed downstairs. Just as I reached the last step, I could hear the sound of the doorbell. Of course before I could stop my embarrassing parents from answering the door, the next thing I knew, Connor was being seated in our living room.

All of a sudden a wind of nervousness had hit me as I slowly entered the room. "Um, hey Connor," I said shyly.

Connor immediately stood up from the couch and made his way towards me. "Hey," he finally said gazing into my eyes. "You look incredible."

My breath had been caught in my throat so instead of thanking the handsome guy in front of me, I just stood there silently choking like some potato. "Thank you," was my final response after a few moments. My cheeks were pretty much baking my make up at this point so I tried my best to calm myself down but it seemed as though my face had a mind of its own.

"Are you ready to go?" Connor smiled.

"Yeah, I just have to say bye to my parents," I told him.

Connor nodded and waited for me at the front door. I turned to face my parents who had some of the biggest smiles on their faces that I've ever seen. I almost thought their faces might even get stuck like that.

"Have a great time tonight honey," Lisa said as she hugged me goodbye.

"Thanks, I will," I said with a grin.

"Danielle, you understand that you can call me anytime you need help or want to go back home right?" my dad said to me.

"Yes, dad I know," I laughed. "Don't worry, if something goes wrong I'll be sure to let you be the first to know."

"Alright, sweetie have a good night."

When I finished speaking to my parents, I finally met up with Connor and we walked outside towards his car. Opening the passenger door for me, Connor made sure that I was being treated

like queen before shutting the door close. Throughout the drive, Connor and I mostly focused on small talk and about current events in our lives. However, half of my brain was coming up with ways to avoid being seen with Connor by Ronnie. Though I knew it was pretty much hopeless since Ronnie and his date, another popular senior at our school, would probably be the life of the party. Oh well, I guess I would just have to make the best of tonight. Once we had finally arrived at school, I could hear the loud music playing from inside, this school was practically bouncing and I could feel the vibrations.
