“I'm fine, thank you.”
“You were always clumsy, you.” She teased me.
I just smiled at her as she walked away to her table. I turned around to face my saviour of the day as soon as I saw him my heart skipped a beat. I really need to get out from here.
“Thank you.” I said to him as I pushed past him but I felt someone grab my wrist. I turn around to see him holding on to my wrist.
“I've seen you somewhere.” He said me, really thinking where he could have possibly seen me.
I couldn't help but reply. “I wonder where?” I smirked up at him and shook my hand away from him. At that moment, recognition crossed his face then a sexy smile.
“You're the...”
I didn't let him finish the sentence as I said, “Bye.” And winked at him and left the cafe into the busy street. I knew he would try to follow me, so I ran away as fast as I could. I looked back to see he was far from close, which caused me to smirk. I cannot believe I just met the stranger from the club, how bizarre is that? I never thought I would see him, but I guess I was wrong.
At last I reached home, I dumped my bag and coat on to the sofa and rushed to the bathroom. After a nice long hot shower, I towel dried my hair and picked up my laptop and went out to the living room. I sunk down on the sofa and started to search for a job. Yes I, Myra Dawn have started searching for my ideal or more like a dream job.
After hours and hours later-
It's been 30 minutes since I started searching. I groaned to myself, got up and made my way to the kitchen as I helped myself to some mint ice-cream. I took the whole tub with me and settled down once again, thinking maybe my yummy mint ice-cream may make this search 100 times easier for me. All I could find was pages and pages of jobs that I wasn't even interested in, I mean would I honestly work as a lab technician, I hated and still hate anything related to science, I shuddered to that thought. At that precise moment, Sally walked through the door with a huge smile plastered on her face.
“Hi Myra,” she greeted me excitedly.
“Hi.” I replied in a monotone.
“Oh come on, cheer up lass.”
I rolled my eyes at her and asked, “How did the research go?”
“Okay, but haven't really found anything solid to write about.” She said as she thought to herself, which was really obvious because she tends to twirl her hair as she thinks and what is she doing now? Yes, you guessed it right, she's twirling her hair.
“Why research when you’ve got me?” I said cheerfully.
“What do you mean?” She asked as she frowned.
“You can use me as an example, but more from a failure angle.” I said.
“Aww Myra, you do not have any failure angle in any form or shape.” She said to make me feel better which honestly wasn't working at all. “How's your job hunting going?”
“Crap.”
“Seriously?”
“Yes Sally, seriously.”
“Here, give me the laptop. I will find you something.”
“Fine.” I mumbled and past her the laptop
“Right let's see.” She mumbled to herself as she started to scroll down the screen
“How about an Accounting Assistant?” She beamed at me.
I scoffed. “Do you remember my accounting homework?” I raised my eyebrow at her.
“Oh yeah I totally forgot you sucked at it.”
“I did not, I just found it hard to understand with so many numbers on one page.” I retorted back
“Yes that's what I said. You totally sucked at it” She giggled and I stuck my tongue at her in a childish manner.
After 10 minutes of me stuffing my face with mint ice-cream and Sally going through the job list, there was a knock on the door.
“Sally.” I looked at her waiting for to get up to answer the door
“You get your fat ass up.” She stated and went back to looking at the screen
I sighed loudly letting Sally know that sometimes she is a pain in the backside.
As soon as I opened the door, right that moment I just wished I was anywhere, out, shopping even working rather standing here facing my mother.
