It was a few days before Christmas. December 20th. Mark and Jack were setting up Christmas decorations together.
"Hey, Jack? Where's the ornaments for the tree?" Mark yelled at Jack from across the house, searching in a box.
"Check in the box to your left!" Jack shouted back, who was getting ready to actually go get a tree.
"Thanks!" Mark looked in that box and surely enough, there were the Christmas ornaments. He searched through them, picking out the ones that shouldn't go on the tree and just be thrown away.
Meanwhile, Jack was getting his boots and coat on, preparing for the cold. He grabbed the keys and as he walked out the door he shouted, "See ya in a bit!" to Mark. Jack went to the car and started it, immediately turning on the heater as a gust of wind blew in his face when closing the car door.
"And away we go!" Jack said to himself as he backed out the driveway.
After Mark had gone through the ornaments, he started going through outdoor decorations. There were the reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolf. Mark set those aside and continued to look. He found a few decorations for the roof. A Santa Claus and lights.
A half hour later, Jack burst through the door with a Christmas tree.
"About time," Mark joked with a faint chuckle.
"It was worth the wait! I've got the best tree and best deal," Jack said putting the tree down. "Which corner?"
Mark pointed to the empty corner by the couches. There were only two couches, and the tree fit perfectly in between.
"Got the ornaments and lights?" Jack asked as he stood there, supposedly looking at the Christmas tree, admiring the perfection of it.
"Right here," Mark came in with a box of lights and the ornaments he picked out. He opened the box fully and reached in to grab a light string. Jack grabbed an end and started putting it around the tree. Mark helped, making sure the lights are in the correct places. After they finished, they plugged the lights into the socket.
"Time for the ornaments," Mark said pulling out some. Jack grabbed the round ornaments and placed them on the tree. Mark helped and they both put the star on top. Jack turned the Christmas lights on and stood back to admire the work he and Mark put into. Mark stood next to him and they both held hands. It definitely put them into the decorative mood.
"Outside next!" Jack shouted excitedly, startling Mark a slight bit. They both went to grab the decor and headed outside. Jack, being the hyper man-child he is, tripped over the steps and fell.
"Shit!" He said, holding his arm. Mark started laughing like a maniac.
"A-are you okay?" Mark asked as he collapsed on his knees, laughing still.
"Just help me up." Jack said chuckling. Mark helped him up and they got the decoratives and put them in their big lawn. After all that was done, Mark and Jack went inside to get some hot cocoa. They took their mugs and sat on their couch.
"Wanna watch a movie?" Mark asked.
"How about Thomas Kinkade's Chrismas Cottage?" Jack suggested.
"Sounds awesome." Mark said as he went to put the movie in the DVD player. As the movie was going through its sneak peeks, Mark went to get some blankets to cuddle with. He came back down and sat next to Jack, covering them both with a big fuzzy blanket as brown as his hair.
The rest of the night was a blast. The two men sitting on the couch, covered up in blankets while cuddling each other and drinking their hot cocoa, as well as watching What could be better than this?
