The chain was tight, but not uncomfortable. It rested on my neck and connected to a post coming out of the floor.

I sighed, the impossible maximum ride, chained up and caged at last. That's right, caged, like in a bird cage for crying out loud. It's ironic really, because I have wings. Yep, you heard me, wings, wings that can cary me through the sky.

But how is a little fifteen year old so dangerous? Because my flock and me were engineered to be the meanest and the most ruthless people you'll ever meet. Some of us are vicious, and others are concerned with fashion. I smiled at the thought of nudge.

The cage was large, containing a garden, fountain, a dinning table, a small table with a chess board on it, a large bath tub, and a curtained off area for the toilet. On the northernmost side of the cage was a king size bed with a canopy over it.

I picked at the itchy outfit I wore. It was white and thin. It barely covered my breasts and went down a few inches above my belly button. The bottoms were flimsy, and I'd rather not get into explaining it. I blushed just thinking about it.

Why would I need such a classy place as a cage? I'm not complaining, it is definitely a step up from the dog cages from when I was little.

My hair fell freely down my back and over my shoulders, and my wings fanned out behind me. I feel dominant when they are out, like having them folded in is a sign of weakness.

I sat down at the chess table in the garden, there were birds chirping and flying through it. I sighed as I remembered what had happened.

"Max!" It was fang, he was calling for me with the flock. Nudge was watching me with worried eyes as fifteen erasers surrounded me. I punched one, sending it flying through the air. I round house kicked another, sending it into a nearby wall.

"Max! You have to get out of there!" Fang yelled. "No dip Sherlock!" I grit out. An eraser slashed at my side, making me wheeze over. Another one pulled my head back by my hair.

"GOOOO!" I yelled at them, looking in their direction. Angel and Gazzy started to run and whip their wings out. Nudge shook her head, starting to cry but turned away and ran. Fang stared, and I felt his pain. He started to run for me but stopped. Iggy had his arm and started pulling him back.

"Come on Fang, we have to go!" Iggy yelled. Fang shook his head, tears started falling down his cheeks. "I can't leave her. I won't!"

Iggy pulled at him, "you have to!"

An eraser grabbed my neck and lifted my up above his head. I held his hand, gasping for air. "Go... Please..." I rasped.

I closed my eyes, unable to breath. The last thing I heard was Fang's earth shattering scream.

And when I woke up, I was in a comfortable bed and warm and all my cuts and bruises were gone. I sighed and leaned back in my chair, starving. I almost started yelling for food, hoping someone would hear me when there was a loud metallic CHANK.

I whipped my head around and nearly fell to the floor. The door to the cage was open and a man stood there. It was Fang, my Fang.
