That was the number one saying of the maids at the Takagara mansion.
It was also the first rule of many, many rules.
Rule #2 : Don't talk to her.
Rule #3 : Never show emotion.
Rule #4 : Clean the room regularly.
Rule #5 : Let her pick a film every day.
And so on and so forth.
Suu was the "her" in the room. Obsessed with cinema, her favorite rule was the one that her parents made when she asked for a window in her room.
They sent her a TV along with a letter saying, "This is your window. You can open it once a day. "
And so, every day, she received one movie or TV show and watched it.
The TV was Suu's life-force. Her reason to keep living.
Ever since her parents discovered she was one of the rare "genetic throwbacks", she had been confined within the walls of her room.
When she was younger, Suu dreamed about going outside but as she got older, dreamed about staying inside her room forever.
Her room was safe and unchanging and she had all her friends from the movies to comfort her.
It was a sad, yet peaceful life.
Suu wished it would stay that way forever.
But as fate would have it, Suu's peaceful life would never go back to the way it was.
