My mom.
That was all I could think about. No matter what I thought about, it all lead back to her.
She was the reason I was here, she was the reason I have never made my decision before, she was the reason I was unhappy.
I kept thinking about all of the times my mother told I could have the world, that all I had to do was believe.
She lied to me, all I ever wanted was to be normal, to live a normal life. But she had to go and make a scene about me and my wolf.
Jaka, Which means strong one, is my main source of life. With out her, I would be so weak that a single breath could knock me over.
Your wolf is your best friend, no matter what happens.
I could easily ignore her, but she would be seriously pissed. I couldn't afford to have her mad at me, too. I was already in deep shit.
I was supposed to be in the village already. They knew I was on my way, they might even come looking for me.
I hoped that was the case, because I didn't know what was gonna happen now.
I might have been able to find where I was by scent, But I was sitting against a pole, with chains of silver around my clothing.
If I moved at all, in any kind of way, Id be burned by it.
I heard whispers, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I wondered what would happen now.
As far as I knew, I wasn't aware of where I was. No one around me smelled familiar.
No where around felt like I was safe, and maybe I wasn't.
A door opened, and a shadowy figure appeared in front of me. They smelled kind of familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on the scent.
They just stood there for a moment, and stayed silent. It took me a moment to realize what was going on, but it became clear very quickly.
I knew where I was, And I knew who it was in front of me.It was Him. Camdyn Conner Hastings.
He was all I saw before I fell back to sleep.
'Hello? Is anyone there? ' I call out, wondering where I was.
Nothing around me seemed familiar. I followed the path like I was supposed To.
I did everything my father told to, but somehow I strayed from the way I was supposed to be going.
All around me. I saw nothing but trees, bushes, and a bunch of unfamiliar places. Not to mention nothing smelled familiar.
' Kai, calm down. We can get through this together. We are one, not to mention best friends! '
'Jana, I know that! But still, I'm only seven years old. I'm just a child. I can't even shift yet, I'll never be able to defend myself. You're pretty much a puppy still! ' I say to my wolf, a small laugh escaping.
I hear a rustle behind me, and a little boy walks from out of the bushes.
'Are you OK? ' He asks, his green eyes piercing my soul.
' Kai, run! We don't know him. Let's get out of here! ' Jaka screams at me, pushing me to run.
Without another thought, I turn and run. Starting to Retrace my steps by scent, I wind up back in camp.
'Kai! What wrong dear?'
My mother asks me as I run up to her.
'I saw a boy, he talked to me! I didn't know Him momma. I was scared. Jaka didn't know what to do. She just told Me To run so I did. I followed my scent back here. I never made Into the other camp. '
I say really fast, throwing my hands around For exaggeration.
She picks me up, I was so tiny I still was small enough to hold.
'Adrin! I'm taking Kai to the other pack to see it for the first time! '
My mom yells into the house at my father, walking towards the end of camp, toward the path. Where I was that boy with the green eyes......
