Chapter 8

-- Melissa's P.O.V --

" How did you get my number? " She questioned the woman on the phone.

" Who is it? " I whispered again.

" HUSH! " She yelled, " Oh not you."

" YES YES That's amazing! "She said

" We would love to."

" When exactly?"

" Two weeks?"

" Okay great!"

" Thank you SO MUCH. Alright good bye."

" AHHHHHHH! "She Screamed with a huge grin on her face.

" WHAT? WHAT? " I screamed just as loud.

" You will NEVER guess who I just got off the phone with."

" Who?"

" ELLEN DEGENERS!!!!"

" AHHH! Are you serious???"

"DEAD SERIOUS! "

" AHHHHH!!!! "We both yelled jumping up and down.

" WHAT WHAT??" Lydia's dad ran in

-- Lydia's P.O.V --

" DAD! I'm going to be on Ellen IN TWO WEEKS!

"Heyyy!" Melissa said.

" Sorry were going to be on Ellen!!"

"Oh goodness don't scare me like that!"

" Sorry. "

" Lydia THAT'S amazing!"

I called my mom right away. Melissa did the same. We both called our families and told them. Melissa and I both couldn't sleep. We stayed up just talking. Then I realized it wasn't that late. I picked up my phone and called Geoffrey.

" Hey you won't believe what happened today! "

"What? "He asked.

" Who you talking to your BOYFRIEND??" Melissa asked teasing me.

" Oh shut up he's not my boyfriend! " I yelled back forgetting he was on the other line.

"What? "He questioned me.

" OH sorry. I was talking to Melissa." I said blushing.

" Oh well, what happened? "

" OH YEAH! I'M going to be on The Ellen show!" I said sticking my tongue out at Melissa.

"OH MY GOSH LYDIA! That's awesome!"

" thanks"

" When?"

" In two weeks."

" Cool that's when we are on spring break."

"Yeah I'm going to tell my class tomorrow."

" That's so cool!"

"I know right!"

" Well thanks for telling me."

" Yeah sure."

" Well I have to go, bye."

" Bye."

Then I hung up finally falling asleep.

*** Next Monday***

I Told Zach about Ellen and he took no time to tell my class. I wanted to do it my self but I guess he saved me the energy. But the the class keep asking me questions.

" When?"

"What for?"

"Why?"

"How long?"

" Did you tell anyone?"

" CALM DOWN GUYS!"

"it's not that big of a deal."

" It's a huge deal! "I herd someone yell

" What's all this about?" My teacher said entering the room. Everyone uncrowded from around me.

" Lydia is going to be on Ellen! " Zach yelled I put my head in my hands because every one was staring at me.

" Is that true Lydia?"

I gave a weak, " yes."

" What for?"

I gave a sigh and explained everything at the front of the class.

During the whole day people kept on congratulating me and Melissa. I was glad that it was going to happen but I couldn't breathe. So many people kept on making me explain it all. I don't know why everyone thinks it a big deal. It's true, not just anyone can be on Ellen but I don't think it is a big deal.

" YES IN TWO WEEKS!! OKAY." I yelled at John.

" Okay, Okay sorry."

Most people would enjoy the attention but I HATED IT! Nobody would leave me alone. Don't get the wrong idea I was glad about all this but I wanted to be left alone for FIVE MINUTES!

** At home **

I spent most of the evening packing for California. I was going to be there for about four days before the show. Just to spend some time to get to know the area. The cool part about this was that Ellen was paying for the plane ride AND the hotel. My mom and Melissa's mom were going with us. I was glad to get rid of the stress my class mates gave me.
