The Moon And The Sun (A Poem)

24 2 1

I have no clue
What it is you have done.

To make me love you
As the Moon loves the Sun.

For the Moon is so dark
And so out of reach

But the Sun makes it shine
Makes it glow, makes it peach,

Or red or orange,
Or silver or gold.

He makes her beautiful,
An elegant soul.

The Sun from the Moon
Is so far away.

And yet they still dance.
And yet they still play.

The Sun is so bright
Yet so far away...

So far that surely
All of us know

They will never meet
For they never slow down.

The Sun knows the Moon
Yet does not think of her.

In fact, he may shiver
At the mere thought of her.

I know that I know you
From afar and up close.

But all I can be
Is a friend and a ghost.

Someone you know
But can never love.

But I'll stay where I am.
And see you as my Sun.
