Through The Years (a.m.)

Chapter Two

*Adelaide's POV*

*Saturday morning 6:30am*

I wake up sighing with relief remembering I don't have to be at work till 7:30. I got up and walked into the kitchen and started making breakfast, once I finished I went to go cover up the noticeable bruises before I woke Marissa up.

We sat down eating in silence, the only noise being our small giggles caused by the funny faces Marissa was making. I grabbed our finished plates and rinsed them off before putting them in the dishwasher, then went upstairs and got Marissa dressed then proceeded to go get dressed myself. I walked down the stairs Marissa in one hand and my house keys in the other, I grabbed my bag and Marissa's then walked out the door making my way to work.

I arrived right on time setting down Marissa at her usual spot with her coloring books. I went into the back and put my bag in my locker then tied my apron around my hips making my way out to start doing my rounds at the tables.

I finished my shift at 2:30 and as I was putting my apron back in my locker I thought about tonight and remembered I didn't have anyone to watch Marissa. I pondered for a bit before getting the courage to ask Alicia even though I didn't want to because I felt like she had already done too much for me.

I walked back to her office and quietly knocked on her door hearing a faint "come in" from her. I opened the door and stepped inside shutting it and waited for her to speak.

A-Is there anything I can do for you hun?

Me- Um I was wondering if maybe you wouldn't mind watching Marissa and keeping her overnight because I have an extra waitressing job I'm doing tonight to get a little extra money.

A few seconds after and she still hadn't said anything, I was about to say never mind and apologize for asking but then she spoke up.

A-I will gladly watch her for you.

Me- Are you sure you don't mind?

A-Not at all. She said smiling.

Me- Alright let me go grab her.

I walked out and got Marissa telling her she would be staying with Alicia tonight and that she needed to behave.

M- But why Addy?

Me- Because I need to make some extra money and this job will help me a lot with that.

I grab her bag which thankfully held some of her extra clothes in it and made my way back to Alicia's office then sat Marissa at the extra table with all of her stuff.

Me- Her clothes are in her bag along with all of her other stuff and if anything happens just call me, thank you again for doing this.

A-I will and it's absolutely no problem, she's my favorite little munchkin. She said smiling over at Marissa.

I walked over and crouched down to Marissa's height.

Me- Be good for Alicia, I'll pick you up in the morning, okay?

M-Alright.

Me- I love you baby. I said hugging her to death then placing a kiss on her forehead.

M- Love you too Addy.

I grabbed my stuff and walked out seeing McKenna sitting in her car waiting for me.

M- Get in bitch! She said impatiently.

I laughed and got in her car then she sped of taking us to who knows where. When she parked the car in a plaza I had no idea what we were doing here.
