Stevie lay at the bottom of the stairs in shock, not moving and trying to breath through the pain she was feeling, she could feel herself drifting in between conciousness, and completely lost it when she looked down and saw that her waters had broke...it was way to early

"Something is wrong Chris!" Lindsey said as he felt a strange feeling tingling in the pit of his stomach

"What do you mean something's wrong?"

"I can feel it! Something is wrong with Stevie or the baby I just know it!" Lindsey began to cry

"We're doing everything we can Lindsey, you know that, she's fine and we will find her! Even if it's the last thing we ever do" Lindsey nodded and Chris just preyed she was right

"why don't we take the kids out hey? they must feel like they have done something wrong with you not really playing with them, plus it might take your mind of things too!"

"I know I feel terrible but I just see Stevie when I look at them and then I think what if I never see her again?"

"Linds, seriously you need to stop thinking the worst of things, this is going to ruin you otherwise and Lily and Adam need you right now, you have to be there for them, so get your shoes on and lets go take them for ice cream" Christine decided that to get through to him she was going to need to be firm

Lindsey walked up the stairs and into the play room, stopping in the doorway to look at his children, Lily was sitting having a tea party and Adam was playing with his trucks on the floor, he smiled at the perfect beings that he and his wife created

"Daddddddddy!" Adam saw his father and toddled over to him before falling at the last step, giggling as Lindsey scooped him up and cuddled him

"So I was wondering, who wanted to come with daddy and Auntie Chris and get some ice cream?" both the children squealed at the thought of ice cream

"Is mommy coming?" Lily asked from her little table and chairs

"No she can't make it today baby, she's busy" Lindsey felt a pang of sadness that his children had no idea what was going on

"She's always busy, I havn't seen her for ages daddy" Lily said as her bottom lip quivered and she started to cry

"Oh sweetheart, come here!" Lindsey sat down on the floor with Adam and Lily came walking over and sat in his lap, wrapping her little arms around his neck as she cried

"Mommy will be back soon, she's just staying with Auntie Sharon right now, they're having a little bit of girl time" Lindsey wished he could just explain it but he knew his daughter wouldn't understand

"Okay daddy" she got up and picked up her shoes, bringing them over and handing them to Lindsey as she sat back in his lap so he could put them on for her

Once the kids were ready Lindsey and Chris drove them to an ice cream parlour a short way down the road from them, once in there Lindsey let Lily and Adam chose the ice cream they wanted and they sat in a window booth and made jokes with each other, Lindsey not feeling like it but putting on a fake smile for his children's sake

"Daddy, can we get go to the shop after this and get some milkshake for home? I want mommy to have her favourite when she comes home" Lily asked and almost made her father cry

"Of course we can baby, just finish your ice cream yeah?" Lily nodded and did what her father asked

Stevie slowly opened her eyes and saw she was still in the room she had been kept prisoner in, she had hoped she would wake up in a hospital, not remembering what had actually happened after she passed out at the bottom of the stairs, she looked over at the bottom of the bed and saw Paul, she was going to speak but she looked down and saw her stomach had shrunk since she last looked at it
