Matt wakes me up at 7:00am,
'Do you want to go in today? If not I'll tell Dom we're bunking off the day.' He asks me sweetly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
'It's only my third day, teachers will hate me if I skive already.' I reply, staring deeply into his mesmerising pools of blue.
'Fair enough.' He giggles. After about 30 minutes I am ready, and have managed to cover up my cheek wound well, putting on my uniform and Doc's. He grabs  my hand, as we answer the door to Dom. Who definitely  has the wrong idea.
'Did you two..?' He asks, looking quite amused.
'Oh, no no no.' We say simultaneously, and Matt continues with 'She is staying with me for a while because her Mum is a bitch.' I snort.
'Did she..?' Dom enquires, gesturing at his cheek. I nod.
'Are you two..?' He asks again, wow - he has a knack for half asking questions. Matt and I look at each other and smile with a nod. 'Awwwww! Kelly is going to tell everyone by the way!' And I roll my eyes.
After walking for about 2 minutes, Tom, Chris and Kelly catch up with us, and Kelly makes eye contact with me, looking very excited, and I give her a look that confirms what she thinks. Before I can react, I feel a force throw me against the floor. I look up and see my Mum.
'What do you think you are doing? Just leaving me? You stupid little whore!' She screams, hands wrapped around my neck as I gasp for breath.
'Guys quick!' Kelly yells, trying to pull my Mum away. I can't breathe anymore. Just as I am about to black out, Chris, Dom and Tom manage to yank her away as Matt rushes to my side and holds my head in his hands as I catch my breath.
'Get off of me!' She screeches, trying to get free, but Chris holds her firmly.
'I'm calling the police!' Matt says, getting his phone out of his pocket.
'Don't you dare you skinny pretentious wanker!' is the reply he gets, and he does it anyway. 'Fair enough, that's what I am.' he says back. Within 10 minutes, a police car has arrived, and is taking her away.
'Miss, do you have anywhere to stay?' The officer asks me.
'Yeah, with me.' Matt says, squeezing my hand. The officer nods and gets in the car. Just as he does so, I ask him if I will need to be questioned.
'There is CCTV surveillance of the area, so we should be able to get all we need. Don't worry, you won't be seeing her for a while.' I smile and run into Matt's arms, and it turns into a group hug, all 6 of us.

The school day is going incredibly quickly, biology with Kelly is not going too well, we have to dissect a chicken leg, and Kelly is too squeamish to do any of it, so I have to do it for her. After about 10 minutes of dissection, Kelly decides she can do it, and as soon as she picks it up with her tongs, she decides that it is too weird, and throws it across the table - right on to my book!
'Eugh!' I protest, wearily picking it up with my plastic gloves. Kelly bursts out laughing.
'Haha! Oh sorry Ash!' She grins, opening her book to write down a summary. Just as I finish writing down the method, the bell rings, and we all spill out of the door.
'Class, the bell doesn't dismiss you, I dismiss... Oh well, see you on Friday.' Ms Hillsford tries to shout.

I am changing the books out of my locker when I feel a pair of arms hug me from behind. I turn my head around, already knowing that it's Matt, and I am rewarded with a quick kiss.
'We've got the big studio booked, you are welcome to come along if you want.' He offers, coming round in front of me.
'I would love to.' I reply, grabbing my books in one hand and grabbing his hand with the other. We walk over to the studio and the others are already there. Matt reluctantly drops my hand and goes over to the guitar.
'Guys, I've been working on a new song. Chris, could you play the double bass for this one?' He begins, sitting down on the stool as Chris dives into the cupboard for a double bass.
'Right. So it is different than our usual stuff. But here goes.

'Love it.' Dom says, patting him on the shoulder.
