Its been an awkward night between Justin and Kelsey, I don't know what's wrong with him. She didn't do anything wrong, so what could he possibly be mad at?

"So, Justin" I say breaking the awkward tension between the two "what did you guys decide to bring us to see?"

"We aren't going to see a movie anymore, in fact we are still going for pizza but this is a surprise."

He looked at Kelsey, placing his hand gently over hers smiling.

Kelsey returned the smile, squeezing Justin's hand.

"So, shelby," Matt whispered to me, making my heart race. "You know, Justin is just worried that he might lose her, he really likes kelsey."

"I figured." I chuckled.

He does the same, I didn't know what to say to him. If I said the wrong thing god knows what could happen, I don't want to look like an idiot.

"Why did you agree to this double date?" I asked.

"Um, I thought it'd be fun." He shrugs "just two friends, hanging out and getting along."

Ouch.

"Oh" was all I could say.

We didn't talk much afterwards, if anything I was hoping that this night was over. I told Kelsey, he didn't like me.

He just friend zoned me.

Now what am I supposed to do?

My feelings were hurt, I wanted to cry and just crawl under a rock.

Kelsey has a lot of homework to do.

I leaned my head against the window, watching the sun setting over the horizon. I graduate in three months, so no worries.

The blue sky disappeared as the time neared seven, the orange horizon was slowly fading out itself. The moon peaked behind the clouds, while the first star came in view ready to twinkle up the night sky.

We arrived to the beach shortly, no one was here.

"Why are we here?" I frowned, popping my head up.

"This is our double date location." Justin smirks.

Justin got out and opened the door for kelsey, I decided to open the door for myself knowing Matt wouldn't but just as soon as I gripped on the handle the door opened.

I came face to face with him.

"Sorry," I giggled.

"No, its ok." He smiled.

I blushed as I looked at the ground, getting out the car. We all walked on the sand, it was beginning to cool down.

Kelsey took her sandals off, taking Justin's hand rushing towards the roaring waves.

It was just Matt and I left.

"So," Matt scratched the back of his neck.

"So," I nod, just standing there.

He didn't say nothing, so I thought I'd speak up.

"If you didn't want to come, you didn't have to."

"Who said I didn't want to?" He frowns.

"I mean-"

"Shelby, its ok. I wanted to come, your really cool. I didn't think it'd be awkward between us."

"You don't think this is awkward?"

"At first, but now yeah" he laughs, causing me to do the same. "But, we might as well make the most of it."

"What are you talking about." I frowned.

Before I knew it, he was taking his clothes off rushing towards the water.

"Matt, what the hell!" I laughed running after him, but not daring getting in the water.

Once I got to the squishy, wet part of the sand I stopped.

"What are you waiting for?" Matt yells.

"I have no extra clothes!" I yelled back.

I looked to my left and found Kelsey and Justin having the time of there lives, while I was just standing there.

"So, what!"

If he thinks I'm going to strip down to my undergarments, just to go for a swim.

"No, thanks!" I shook my head.

"Shoot yourself," he began splashing swimming far out into the ocean. I knew how to swim, but I just didn't feel right.

I watched as he disappeared underwater, he was under there for a minute. I began getting worried, but then remembered he's probably just having fun until he came back up screaming help.

It caught Justin's attention, he began swimming towards Matt but wasn't close enough as I was.

I started panicking watching him, struggle to stay afloat.

"Shelby!" He screamed my name.

I quickly removed my clothes, jumping into the water swimming towards him.

He went under and so did, I swam to him and grabbed his arm.

I pulled him up to surface and just in time, Justin came to the rescue helping me.

Once he was on shore, I checked for pulse but to my dismay.

Justin started laughing, "what's so funny? He just drowned and you're laughing?"

I looked over to Matt who was wide awake, staring at me with a smile.

"What the?"

"Hey, Shelby."

"Matt, I thought you-oh, fück you!" I angrily spat hitting his chest and shoving Justin.

"Hey, I got you in the water. What else was I supposed to do?"

"Not, fake drown." I said "you could've used your brain and threw me in."

"Oh," Matt blushed "I didn't think about that"

I flicked him off standing up, I was left in my bra and underwear. Kelsey had a towel wrapped around her and tossed one to me.

Thank god, Justin brought some.

"Sorry about that." Matt apologized.

"Whatever, its fine."

He scared the living crap out of me, I didn't know what to do.

"Now, how about some pizza?" Justin winks.

Horrible ending, I know, I know.

But I wrote as much as I could.

I'll give you an unexciting hint of the next chapter, its going to pick up with them at the pizza place and someone running into an old friend....who do you think it is????
