Tatsumi POV

We were quickly thrown into the large colosseum, the large walls much too high for any regular man to climb, and the crowd cheered with excitement.

I land on my butt and my hand lands in a pile of blood from the last fight, I quickly crawl away from the sudden touch of it and look at my hand covered in it. Shit, what's wrong with these people? Do they really enjoy this type of thing?

Cyrus held out his hand, his expression was grim and cold from the sight around us. I take his hand and he hauls me off the ground, then we face the largest part of the crowd, a large covered area where the emperor sat with the biggest smirk on his face.

The civilians roared in excitement, some throwing stuff at us and I even had to take another step back from the crowd to evade a tomato.

The emperor stood, everyone going silent at the same time in unison. He called out, his voice boomed across the colosseum.

"Today, I bring a special treat for you all! Two members of the famous assassination group, Night Raid!" He called, making the crowd boom.

Everyone was off their feet and whooping for a fight. I feel disgusted by these people, my stomach feeling heavy and aching. Cyrus probably felt the same, seeing that his face was more pale than normal.

The emperor looked down at us with a grin. "And today, their they will be fighting..."

He trailed off, keeping everyone in suspense.

As he finishes his sentence, he makes eye contact with me and Cyrus, making me flinch.

"... Each other." He said.

The crowd seemed to be jumping up and down in glee. I felt a feeling I haven't felt in awhile.

Fear.

Cyrus grit his teeth and looked as if he might burst into flames on the spot, but I put a hand on his shoulder, making him heave a breath he had been holding and look back up at the emperor with a look of hatred.

"Will you accept this fight? Or die here?" The emperor said, his grin reaching across his entire face.

Cyrus answered before I could refuse boldly.

"Yes. We accept." He said.

I flinch, what the hell is he thinking? Cyrus turns to me and smiles, giving me a quick wink, telling me he has a plan. I let a small smile loose for a second, then nod.

The guards throw swords into the arena, and me and Cyrus each grab one. Cyrus took a stance, loose and had a meaning of a counter move to it. So he's expecting me to go first?

I grin and get into a stance also, an offensive one. The crowd freezes, the cheering stops and they wait in suspense. In truth, if I turned into Incursio, we could escape, but that isn't an option unless absolutely necessary.

My foot steps forward, and I propelled off, straight at him. My first overhead strike, he easily deflects, and tries for a stab. I move to my right and hit his shoulder with the butt of the sword handle, making me slide on the sanded ground.

The crowd let's out a cheer of excitement, finally at their peak since we started to fight.

Cyrus moves into an offensive stance and charges at me, slashing at my legs, I jump up and kick him in the chin, making him reel back.

Every hit we land or throw the people around us go wild. It feels like they're cheering for one of those strikes to get us, to make us bleed.

I could already tell what Cyrus was thinking when we got up here. The people aren't afraid of their ruler, they were corrupted by him.

Meaning we do not need the desert tribes help.

After we escape this place, were killing that emperor and leaving. Call it a personal grudge, but I was really angry without bastard. Every single one of these citizens can get a piece of my wrath too for all I care.

I sigh, I need to calm down. Being this angry with a society like this is worthless. We simply need to find the person that talks with their deity. There's one for each tribe, so maybe we can find him/her if we look hard enough.

Cyrus falls to one knee, then slides his leg across the ground, tripping me and causing me to lose balance. He stands quickly and grabs me by collar to my shirt, and throws my over his shoulder, slamming me back first into the ground.

The wind flies out of my lungs and I clench my chest, feeling like I was choking. I grit my teeth and get to one knee, slashing upwards and getting a cut on his shoulder, spraying blood across the sand.

The crowd cheered, and Cyrus jumped back, clenching his wound. We need to make this realistic, until Cyrus knows what to do. If getting a little hurt would do that, then we'll be fine.

He quickly returns with a cut to my hip, the pain causing more adrenaline to pump into me, to make me move faster. I scream as I make a large slash, clashing against his sword and making sparks fly.

We held each other at bay, both gritting our teeth. Cyrus then smiles. "I got it." He said, confirming he had a plan.

I nod, just as I see his left hand let go of the blade, letting me win our lock, he side steps me, and his left fist flies into my stomach, on fire. The burn it caused could be healed later, but he could've held back a bit more ;-; .

I cough up blood and fall to my knees, dropping my sword. Cyrus aims his sword at my neck, and the crowd goes silent. The emperor rises and smiles.

"Kill him, Cyrus. Kill your comrade." He said, his voice booming across the colosseum.

The arena was silent, I couldn't see Cyrus' eyes from under his bangs, his expression was blank. But instead of slashing at me and ending it, like I had expected, he moved and pointed his sword at the emperor.

"I refuse." He said.

The crowd looked shocked.

The emperor was silent, then let out a hysterical laugh, covering his face with his hand. "Very well... then send out Abraham." He called.

The crowd went back to excited quickly hearing this, and the doors opened to show the man that was in the cages with us, the guards threw him out onto the sand on the other end of the arena.

He got up and looked around, his eyes stopping on us, making him sigh. "Stupid kids." He said through his sigh. "Should've just killed one another."

Cyrus makes a stubborn face. "I'm not killing my family."

Abraham laughed at this. "Sure sure. Whatever... let's get this over with." He said.

Suddenly, from under him the ground rumbled. I flinch, feeling under me the ground shifting. What in the hell-!

I shoot up and tackle Cyrus out of the way of a giant scorpion fly out of the ground, one of the pincers missing the both of us by inches.

Me and Cyrus jump back, watching the giant beast crawl over to Abraham and let him climb on top of it.

"Now it seems I have to feed you to her." He said with disappointment.

Are you telling me the deity descendant is Abraham? Why is he in the cages then? But I didn't have time to A's more questions in my head as the giant scorpion ran at the both of us, pincers raised.

(Holy crap I uploaded. Seems like a long time since I did, and I nearly was bombed to death ;-; . But I luckily survived, and I'm back! Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day!) - MnMs171

Cyrus and Tatsumi fight Abraham in the arena, along with the deity of the west itself. Will they be able to fight them without Tatsumi having to use Incursio? Find out in the next chapter, "Kill your Limit!"
