*JJ's point of view*

"Hello Dr. Wilson.", Heather greeted her, her weak voice giving me chills.

Dr. Wilson sent a hand through her blonde hair and took a good look at Heather, who was barely clothed and extremely devastated.

When I said I didn't think she could cope with all of this, I was wrong. Heather and Spencer went through so much already, they're the strongest human beings I know, together with the rest of the BAU.

And when I said I didn't think she could handle this well, I didn't mean for a psychologist to trot in and brainwash her into telling her things about her childhood and relationship to her parents.

Heather had already been to enough therapy sessions after what had happened nearly half a year ago. And you could feel that it was all still present in her mind, if it wasn't for Spence she wouldn't have been able to get back to work and carry on with living..

What Heather needed was her friends and family, but most importantly she needed Spence. And Spence needed her.

Today is the most heartbreaking day in my life.. I mean, they both didn't deserve anything like this. Nobody does, but especially not them- not after everything that has already happened to them.. Why does this always happen to us? It's not fair at all.

"How do you feel?", Dr. Wilson asked her, taking a chair and placing it on the other side of the hospital bed in which Heather lay. She sat down, crossing her one leg over the other one and smiled down at Heather.

She closed her eyes and tried to turn around in order to bury her face into the pillow. But that was when another wave of pain struck her. She winced and placed her hands on her stomach.

"How do you think I feel?", Heather cried, making my eyes water, making everything flash through my mind once again, there was too much blood and I will probably never be able to erase this image from my brain.

"Do you want to talk about it?", the one doctor asked and Heather shook her head.

"Sorry for putting it so harsh, but I don't need a shrink, I need my Spencer.", she hissed through closed teeth, eyes closed due to the pain.

"Dr. Knew?", I asked, turning my head to the side, "could Heather have something against the pain?"

"No.", Heather shook her head, "Use of prescription narcotic painkillers increases the likelihood a baby will be born small or early, or go through painful drug withdrawal. We don't want that."

The doctor looked at me with an apologetic look.

"Could Dr. Wilson please leave?", Heather asked in a near-whisper, looking up at the ceiling.

The doctor said nothing and left on Heather's plea.

"Heather?", I asked, taking her hand in mine,"what about you close your eyes and try to take a nap and rest a little bit?"

She nodded slowly, "I'll try, but please promise me you'll look for Spencer and tell me anything that has to do with him, okay? Please, JJ. Please, I really have to know."

"I promise.", I let go of her hand after giving it a soft squeeze, turning to the doctor and signalling to the door, before walking over it and closing it behind me.

Automatically some tears rolled down my cheeks and I quickly wiped them away. I had to look for the others and see how Spencer is.

I walked down the hall, meeting a few nurses and doctors with stethoscopes hanging around their necks and families or friends awaiting good or bad news, hanging  on the words which left the lips of hospital staff.

When I went back to the waiting room, I spotted not just Emily and Garcia there but also David, Derek and Aaron.

"JJ!", they screamed, causing other people to look at us strangely.

"Where were you?", the girls asked simultaneously as I asked all of them, "what happened?"

"You go first.", I demanded.

"We didn't catch the one behind the attempted assassination.", Hotch says with a sad undertone, frowning.

My mouth formed an 'o'-shape but before I could ask a new question, Derek began to speak.

"But we have half of his number plate. And we secured every piece of evidence."

"Nothing new from Spencer or Heather.", Penelope said, "Where did you disappear to? We thought you fell into the toilet!"

"I was with Heather. I saw her trying to get up off the stretcher in order to search for Spencer and called a doctor who made an ultrasound.", I shook my head, pressing my upper and bottom lip together before continuing,"she was to deliver twins."

"Did she loose the babies?",Emily asked shocked.

"One of two.", I said.

"How is she doing?", David asked in a soft and calming tone.

"Not so good. Who could blame her..", I answered.

"That's horrible. Do you think we can see her?", Penelope asked.

"Sure, but she needs a bit of rest. Even though, I doubt she managed to fall asleep.. Can someone help me see what is with Spencer?"

"I'm coming with you, JJ.", Derek spoke.

"Me, too.", Aaron said.

"We're going to find Heather.", Emily decided.

"She's in room 437.", I told her and we parted ways.

"Where are all of the guests now? What about Diana?", I asked Hotch and Morgan.

"They left, we got Diana a room in a hotel and she has two agents with her to calm her and keep her safe.", Derek explained as I nodded.

"Okay, let's go see if Spencer is alright. I promised Heather."
