A young lady sat on a rooftop peacefully staring at the setting sun.
Up came a man, he sat beside her.
Both watched the sun, one with a smile the other with a slight frown.

A few days had passed. Both male and female sat at the same rooftop, at the same time, watching the sun set.
Except this time, the man had a smile on his face.

With that one smile, they began to talk. The female talked about how she loved music, and how her mother had deeply inspired her.

When the words "but she was killed in a fire" slipped out her mouth, the man widened his eyes.

He knew she looked familiar, and now he remembered why.

He got up and ran away leaving the young girl in wonder.

Throughout the rest of the week, the male hadn't returned to watch the sunset with her.

But that didn't stop her from enjoying it.

A month had passed, and the male had finally returned.

But this time, his face was blank
No emotions detected.

He sat down next to the young girl and asked her to sing for him.
She agreed with a smile on her face

"I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'd never let you go..."
"When all those shadows almost killed your light"
"I remember you said 'don't leave my here alone'"

The man listened with anguish, her soft voice nearly bringing him to tears.

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down"
"You'll be alright. No one can hurt you now...come morning light....

                You and I'll be safe
And
                      Sound...."

She didn't get a chance to finish
Abruptly the male hugged her tightly.

He began to tell her how he'd killed a woman many years ago.

The girls eyes closed, filled with tears realizing he was talking about her mother

She tried to pull herself away from the hug, but the males next words caused her to return his hug

"No one can hurt you now."

Without realizing it, the male slowly began to fall in love with the girl.

Every night when the sun began to set, the two met up to talk about what they liked

The male talked about how he loved seeing people in pain and how he enjoyed causing the pain.

The girl stared at him and smiled softly, she was accepting towards him

She no longer seemed to care that the man she knew had killed her mother many years ago.

Because without realizing it, she had begun to love him as well.

One evening the young girl failed to show up on the rooftop and watch the sunset.

Leaving the male alone, he ended up watched it by himself.

The following morning the man was walking along the street in the form of a civilian

He noticed a missing persons flyer on a pole

Sadly, the missing girl was the one he loved.

He ran off in search of the girl.

Months had passed, and no sign of her

The army called off her search but the male continued on

At the end of that month, he had seen a body laying in the grass
He ran over it to

Relief filled his eyes when he realized the body, was the girl he's been searching for.

He kneeled down and shook her body
Cold to the touch he realized that she was dead.

Strangled

The male slammed his fist into the ground, he wanted to cry and scream

For she was the only one who cared for him

But the tears just weren't there

The following week, he had attended the girls funeral

He couldn't help but laugh at all the sadness she caused just by dying

No one ever found the man who killed her.

That night he sat on the same rooftop and watched the same setting sun.

Everything seemed Normal, except
She wasn't there

He sighed and continued that routine for the next 300 years.

He regretted never telling the girl that he was a homunculus

On the 300th anniversary of her death the male sat on the same rooftop, watching the same sun set, but this time...

He began to sing his favorite line of the song the girl sang for him.

"You and I'll be safe, and
Sound..."

A single tear drop managed to escape his eye as he closed them and got up, looking up at the sky he smiled

"You're the one who's safe."

After that night, the male never returned to that rooftop.

Except on her anniversary

And he'd sing her song
