A girl pushed her way through a crowded airport, trying to find a place to sit and wait. It had been years since she last saw him. Three to be exact. She was now seventeen, as was he. She wore jeans with a blue shirt. On her head she wore a faded red and white hat. The girl sat down on a bench, sighing, and took off the hat. She brushed it off (even thought there was no dirt on it), and sat gazing at it, letting her mind wander. She replayed images and memories in her mind, adventures from long ago. Putting the hat back on, she leaned back and closed her eyes, letting her daydreams take control. He would be here soon.

A boy looked out the window of his plane once again. He had checked several times, but this time, they were getting closer to the ground; where she waited for him. It had been so long. He began nervously twisting his wristband. He placed his hand on the cool, round mega-stone, then fingered the blue ribbon attached to it. He had had the ribbon and the mega stone made into a wristband, and he had hardly ever taken it off since. The ribbon was a bit worn and frayed, but the memories it held were still perfectly in tact. He gazed at the ribbon, reccollecting the day he received it. The boy smiled and closed his eyes. He would see her soon.

As the plane touched down to the ground, the raven haired boy grabbed his dark jacket and green backpack. He had kept the backpack, but had long since grown out of the blue and white jacket he had always worn as a kid. He looked out the window one last time. Not much longer now. Finally reunited after all those years of waiting. Everyone filed their way out of the plane and made their way down the steps and into the Kalos region. He took a deep breath and let it out.
"Good to be back," he sighed, and made his way towards the airport.

After making it through security and dodging a couple fangirls who recognized him as the former Kalos Champion, he finally made his way out into the open. Realizing he had no idea where she was, he began looking for a girl with a pink jumper and red fedora. But wait, things had changed. She wouldn't be wearing that outfit anymore. Would he even recognize her? Now having something else to worry about, he carefully continued on. After a few false alarms he sat down on a bench, ready to give up. How was he ever supposed to find her with all these people? Then, something caught his eye... a red an white hat. His hat. He felt his heart start beating faster and stood up. The person wearing the hat was... a girl. A girl... with honey blonde hair. It was worn in a loose braid, rather than worn down like it usually was, and her eyes were closed, hiding the cerulean eyes beneath, but it was her. He began to run towards her, then slowed, realizing she was asleep. He smiled, and just watched her for a minute. She wore jeans and a blue shirt, and of course, his hat that he had given her. He still remembered that day like it was yesterday. He had promised himself he would see her again, and now... here they were. He sat down slowly next to her, being careful not to wake her. He tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and continued to watch her sleep peacefully. Starting to feel tired himself, he carefully put an arm around her and closed his eyes, deciding to rest until she woke up. Soon both were sleeping soundly, neither caring about the bustling people, or shouting children. They were finally together.

In her dream, she sat on the bench, just like before. Except this time, he was there. He sat beside her, smiling. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gazed at her. In the dream, she couldn't speak, but that was alright, she didn't need words. He closed his eyes and put an arm around her, soon falling asleep. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. Everything was perfect.

She awoke to find herself in the arms of a stranger. She was resting her head on his shoulder and he had one arm around her.
"How dare he! Who does that?!" She thought, sitting up, ready to give this guy a piece of her mind. Then, she noticed something... a blue ribbon, tied around his wrist. She gasped and put a hand over her mouth, realizing this was no stranger. That was her ribbon. It was him. Her heart began to beat wildly in excitement. Shaking her head and trying to calm herself down, she sighed and leaned back again. He still had an arm around her, making her smile. He had changed, as had she. He had gotten taller, taller than her. And he wore a dark grey jacket, rather than the blue and white one she was used to. He even had a mega stone on his wristband! But he still had the same wild raven hair. This was defintely Ash Ketchum. The Ash she still loved after all these years. He looked so old and... handsome. Her face turned bright red at what she had just thought, but she pushed it away. She didn't want this moment to end, but he would wake up soon anyways. She slipped her cold hand into his warm one.
"Ash," she whispered. He shifted a bit, hearing his name, but didn't wake. She tried again. "Ash wake up," she said a bit louder. He still didn't budge. She chuckled a bit, remembering what a heavy sleeper he could be. "Ash it's me, wake up," She said, shaking his shoulder a bit. Nothing. She rolled her eyes. "So stubborn," she muttered. After looking around to make sure no one was watching, and poking Ash one last time to make sure he was asleep, she gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. His eyes flashed open. He looked around quickly until his eyes fell on her.
"Serena, he said, grinning. "Sorry, I must have fallen aslee-" he began, but Serena interrupted him with a hug.
"I missed you," she whispered into his chest. Ash sighed and wrapped his arms around her.
"I've missed you too," he whispered, holding her closer. After a while, Ash let go and smiled down at Serena. "So, you want to go get some lunch?"
