Part Of Growing Up

Getting up from the bed

I'm so tired but I did

This is my routine early in the morning

Taking breakfast, preparing my things, bathing.

I took a deep breath as I looked at

The girl looking back

I saw a young lady in the mirror

The maiden looked so pretty there

I smiled, she smiled

She did the things I did

I raised my eyebrow at her

And so as she, we're not partners

I looked at her from up to down

Changes and developments is not yet done

She is not the girl back then

But I know we've been friends since then

Looking at her straight in the eyes

I realized the revelations

Shocked reaction is on her face

Unconsciously, I took a step to pace

I put my hand on my chest

I realized it is just a test

But then my heart beats so fast

I am not like the girl from the past

I am not a little girl anymore

Never will I be a kid forever

And the girl I can see

The girl in the mirror is me

But that won't change me

I am still the person you see

Every time we are together

I'll be myself forever
