This chapter is going to be in the third person POV :)

People say that you can't just up and leave what you've known all your life

that you'll never make it in the world without your home-roots

but that's what I did

so lets see how it all plays out....

--------------------------------

One day they did leave though. Father came home right after work. Brii wasn't sure what was going on. Mom was getting dinner ready when Lila, her younger brother Ricky, and her old brother, Rob got off the bus. Brii tried to act as normal as she knew how, getting her homework out on the dining room table, and telling Ricky to sit down and that she'd help him with his homework. (Even though she wasn't sure what kind of idiot teachers gave homework on a Friday.) She went to help her brother with a math problem he didn't understand, when her mom came into the room to help him.

"You can do your own homework hun. I'll help him with his." Her mom told her. Confused, yes she was. The day was getting weirder, and she there was a sort of eerie tension in the air. But as Brii eventually got her homework done, her father pealed into the driveway. The front door slammed behind him and Brii silently walked down the hallway to her room at the very end.

Sitting down at her desk, she wrote about her day in her journal. Cliche, yes, very. But she loved to write, and being in sixth grade, going into seventh, with taking on the role of "mother" at such a young age, she had very little imagination left. So she wrote about her day, putting detail  into what she though she was feeling about the cutest guy in her small class. He was a twin, cute, and he knew it. A farmer boy with money. Occasionally he would take the long route on the bus and stay with her until the last stop, which was hers. His mom drove the bus, so he could do that. That was about as far as her crushes ever went in elementary school. Which was fine with her for the most part, because it wasn't like she was going to stay there enough over the summer to be in a "relationship."

--------------------------------

Quotes on the word relationship because its not like you can really date in in elementary anyways. This is a hella short chapter, but I need to go do stuff. Kidding I have literally no life. Anyways...
