I sat down at the desk, nervous as hell. Thoughts running through my mind

"Well Kehlani. I think you have a powerful voice. We need someone like you here at Empire. You're everything i'm looking for. All you have to do is sign" Lucious said

He handed me the papers and i read over them before putting my pen on the dotted line. I began signing but was interrupted by someone busting through the door.

"Lucious!" The woman Yelled.

"Cookie? When did you get out?" Lucious asked

"Two day's ago" she replied

"17 years and you still look beautiful." This must be the famous Cookie Lyon i heard about.

"17 years and I still want whats mine. Half of this company. It was my Forty-thousand that started this bitch. You know it and I know it. I want half of my company back"

"Cookie now is not the time. I'm trying to sign an artist. Please sit down."

"Yeah what ever" she sat in one of the chairs in Lucious' office

"Shall we continue Kehlani?"

"Yeah" I signed the papers then handed them back to Lucious "All done"

"Welcome to The Empire." Lucious smiled and so did I. "We will discuss manag-(gco)"

"Let me do it! Its the least you could do." Cookie said

"Cookie... No"

"I used to Manage yo lil raggedy ass and this is my company. I built this!"

"Fine. You can manage. But we'll talk about the company later. Kehlani meet my ex wife Cookie Lyon. Cookie this is one of the most powerful singers I've heard in a long time, Kehlani"

"Nice to meet you" i said while shaking her hand as she replied "You too"

"Alright, I think we're done here. Cookie, you will need to set up studio times. Discuss that later. As of right now. We're done. Empire is glad to have you Kehlani"

"Thank you for having me. I'm looking forward to working with you Mrs. Lyon"\

"Oh sweetie, just call me Cookie"

"Okay Cookie, Bye guys" i said before grabbing my bag and walking out

As i walked down the hall I was stopped by Jamal.

"Hey, are you Kehlani?"

"Yeah, that's me."

"Welcome to Empire. I know my dad signed you, he couldn't pass this up. If he did, he's crazy"

"Yeah, I got signed. Can't wait to start working on music here. This is the best thing to ever happen to me."

"Congratulations, you'll love it here. I know you will"

"Thank you"

"Maybe we can work on something together"

"That would be great"

"Let me see your phone"

I handed him my phone and he put his number in then text himself for my number

"Just hit me up any time. You're like family now, I can help you with any thing."

"Thank you. I'll be sure to go to you for help" he smiled throughout the whole conversation.

"aight well, I gotta get going. But remember what I said and I'll see you soon."

"Bye" i said before smiling and walked out of the building. I hopped in my black Audi and drove to my house. I'm not rich but I got my shit together from singing and doing concerts and shit. Tsunami Mob keeps me up there.I got in my house and plopped on the couch pulling out my phone and texting my friend Amber.

"Nigga we made it!"

"Congrats yo! I knew you could do it"

"When you comin to visit?"

"Idk, maybe next week."

I got a text from cookie saying "We got Studio time Friday at 1:30. That gives you 2 days to prepare but I need you to be there, I got some people I want you to meet."

" I'll be there. Cant wait!"

"See you soon boo"

"Who you texting that got you takin long as shit to reply???" Amber said

"Cookie Lyon, talkin bout studio time. But you need to come down here next week."

" Oooooh. Studio time. You all Hollywood now but I will I will"

"Not even Hollywood. I'm the same ole me. but imma hit you up later cause i'm tired af"

I checked my social media and on every one, there was a post saying

"Rising Artist, Kehlani, Just Signed To Empire. Cant wait to see what she's got in store"

I locked my phone and went up stairs. changed out of my clothes and into some pajamas then fell asleep. I didn't even think I was gonna sleep through the night since it was only like 7 pm but I did... Goodnight Y'all.

I know it's short but hey... Writing this chapter was annoying
