Omniscient

Sanaa stood in the shower thinking about furthering things between her, and her long term boyfriend Trevor. Sure, her and Trevor had talked about getting married and even having kids but with both their careers, it seemed like things of that nature had gotten put off. She still wanted it to happen but at this point she didn't know when it would.

Sanaa loved Trevor, she did but she wanted to experience getting married and having kids of her own. She didn't want to wait, she wanted to live life to the fullest and do what she wanted.  Plus, she saw herself snd Tre having kids together but she guessed he didn't feel the same way. Sometimes she honestly believed that he didn't want any of that, and that made her rethink her current situation with them.

"Babe?" Trevor called questioningly.

Sanaa had gotten lost in her own world, she almost forgot that she was in the shower.

"Yeah?" She called back.

"We're gonna be late if you don't hurry up," he pointed out, sticking his head inside of the bathroom fully dressed.

He wanted to be crisp as hell tonight at dinner and that's what he was going to do. Even though his outfit was simple, it was still dope.

"Sorry babe," she apologized, turning off the water and getting out of the shower.

She dried her body off and threw on the dress she had picked out from earlier.

"Mmm, you look good," Trevor complimented her just as she got her dress on

"Mmm, you look good," Trevor complimented her just as she got her dress on. He didn't mind the way his women was dressed because he knew she would never step out on him. Other men could stare, they couldn't compare to the love that she had for Trevor.

She smiled like a little school girl just as he wrapped his arms around her from the back. When these two showed each other love and affection, they acted just like high-schoolers.

She turned around to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck. He stared deep into her eyes before planting a kiss on her lips. They pulled away from one another to catch their breaths but were back at it seconds later. Sanaa loved the attention that Trevor was giving her right now and even he loved the affection too but the two of the knew what would happen if they kept making out like teenagers.

Trevor pulled away and allowed himself to chuckle. "We better stop before we never end up at this dinner,"

Sanaa smiled, showing off her dimples. "You're right. Let's go."

The couple grabbed what they needed for this dinner and proceeded to leave the house. Within in twenty minutes they had made it to the restaurant and wasted no time going inside and joking a group of Trevor's co-workers.

Towards the end of the dinner, Sanaa didn't like the topic at hand. They were asking the two of them when they planned to have kids and Sanaa honestly didn't want them in their business. Trevor was thrilled talking about it though and what he was saying to them didn't match what he had told Sanaa.

"So, do you two of you plan on getting married?" one of Trevor's co-workers asked, smiling towards Sanaa. Sanaa was unsure how to answer that question so she poked at her steak with her fork before eating it.

"I-" Sanaa started, but stopped to think about her choice of words. Before she could fully answer the question she heard Trevor spoke.

"I don't think so, I'm really not the type to settle down. I mean later in life, maybe." Trevor explained with a smile on his face.

The table grew quiet, Sanaa and Trevor both could feel the tension in the air and they knew for a fact that Karen and Jacob could feel it also. Karen and both Jacob were quite taken back by Trevor's answer seeing how he seemingly loved Sanaa but apparently they were wrong.

Sanaa didn't feel the need to be there anymore and she wanted to leave. "Uh, I—.. Excuse me please." she stood to her feet and prepared herself to leave the table. Shamefulness was evident, she didn't know how to react to the situation but she knew she was hurt.

"Where you running off too?" Karen probed with concern written all over her face.

"To the bathroom." she responded in a mumbled before she disappeared off to the bathroom.

What he did was inexplicable. Sanaa felt as if he had done it on purpose. She felt like he didn't care if he hurt, he knew how she felt about marriage and the two discussed it often but never did he use to say, maybe or later down the line.

Any other day the two would be perfect. Smiling and laughing was the only thing you could catch them doing. They were the couple everyone looked at and said 'goals' but now after tonight, Sanaa didn't feel like they were on that level and Trevor had been lying to her.

Sanaa stood at the bathroom sink, looking in the mirror and before she knew it tears were falling down her face.

How could the one I see myself spending the rest of my life with say that he doesn't see the two of us getting married? She had so many questions that she didn't know weather or not she wanted the answer to.

The dinner had been over for quite awhile and Sanaa had only decided to stay so she she wouldn't make a fool of Trevor. They were wrapping up the conversatiom with Karen and Jacob and by this time she was really ready to go.

"Maybe we can do this again sometime." Jacob smiled and Karen nodded.

Trevor shook Jacobs hand, they said they're goodbyes amongst each other before the couple walked away from each other.

Sanaa watched them for a moment before turning on her heels, speed walking away from Trevor. She didn't care how she got home, hell, she'd catch a cab.

"Sanaa! Wait!" Trevor yelled, standing in the same spot while Sanaa still walked away from him.

"I don't care, Trevor!" she hollered, continuing on her way. She wanted to get away from him already.

Some would say that she's being dramatic but she didn't see it. It was a serious thing with the two of them so why couldn't they get married? If he was being so negative about spending the rest of his life with someone then that meant that he wasn't ready for kids either.

He jogged after her, catching up to her. He grabbed her arm roughly, turning her around to face him. "I'm not done talkin' to you!"

She snatched her arm out of his grasp. "But I'm done talking to you!" she didn't waste any time turning to walk away from him again.

He ran his hand down his face quickly. "Sanaa, come here! I'm sorry!"

She stopped, turning to face him. "Sorry isn't enough, you only get like this when you're around your friends Trevor! Why? If you don't wanna marry me or have kids with me then why hype me up?" Trevor was silent. "You can't answer that can you?" she scoffed, turning around heading back down the block. She pulled her phone out the purse, calling Neecy.
