Chapter One • Surprise

"Perfect! I said everything should be perfect" I stood here in the middle of a huge Hall almost covered in a mix of ballons, flowers, lights and themed streamers hanging down from places.

If I had one word for today's day it would be 'Perfect' every thing had to be perfect as it was about to be the biggest day of my life. The perfect girl who celebrates her birthday today, is about the get the biggest surprise of her life. I have been dating Shanaya for about a 6 months now and have known her since childhood. Some people might say its too soon and I'm rushing into stuff. Honestly I thought the same too, but when we both are so in love with each other than why wait? I'm stable in my job and she is too. If anything it's about time we could take the next step.

"You really did a wonderful job on this party" Says Ahana, bringing me out of my reverie. I smile back to myself and turn back to face her.

"Today is kinda important, you know? So I gotta make sure everything is right and anyway don't try to be modest, you're the one helping me a lot at this" I said and she just gave me a look and then started checking of everything was running smoothly.

Ahana Singhania. Shanaya's elder sister. Everyone always thought that me and Ahana would end up together, they even had bets on us. But I guess destiny had something else in mind. We were always like best friends. Our relationship and bond was something many people carved and I guess that's the reason, people made it obvious that we would end up together. Although, they both like polar apart. Shanaya is the extrovert and Ahana the ultimate Introvert or you could say Introverted-Extrovert. She was the one of the first people to find out about today. She was happy and offered to help me.

"This was one simple detail, I mentioned it clearly that I needed white orchids not the purple ones" I heard Ahana tell the decorator. Patience is something everyone should learn from her. I would probably be snapping at him right now and then later regretting it. She's real good at handling her anger, yet another trait opposite from Shanaya.

"Ma'am they were not in stock, this was the best we could do" He explained.

"But, these don't go well with the theme" Ahana argued.

"I think they look pretty" I said giving the decorator reassuring look.

"They don't look bad, but it's purple and she loves the white ones. You know it too" She said looking at me.

"Yeah, I'm aware. But it's clearly not available or he would have bought them. It's not mandatory for everything to be perfect" Now it was Ahana who needed reassurance.

She was working like a maniac behind this, she helped me me a lot. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have been able to do a this stuff. She was a huge help.

"I guess you're right" She finally agrees and looks around again.

"So can we continue with purple ones? " The decorator asked. She was still contemplating and looked at me while I have her 'Come on' look.

"Yeah, sure. Just be quick we don't have enough time left" She said and the decorator agreed and went back to work.

"Give the guy a break, he's been working his ass off to make this day perfect and all the workers too" I said.

"Yeah, that's righ- wait, what do you mean tthey have? What did I do? Manicure? I was the one looking after everything so if anyone is to be praised it should be me and then them off course" Ahana said, which made me laugh.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. Thanking you for working your ass of on making this happen okay?" I said still laughing.

"Is this funny? I don't know what my sister sees in you" She says.

"Oh, come on she loves me and you know you love me too, don't you? " I ask her. Her back was currently facing me and I could see her freeze at that statement. I don't know why though.

"Shut up! " That's all she said. And then there was silence. The only things heard were people walking around, working and decorating the place. I couldn't stand the odd silence between us, so I decided to break it.

"The main job is still on you though, you gotta bring Shanaya here remember?" I told her.

"Yes, you legit made me keep an alarm for it. God! I won't forget, you gotta chill" She said facing me, and easing up again.

"I'm just excited and nervous for tonight" I told her genuinely. This has been eating me out like the whole day. What will she say? Will she say yes? Is it a good idea? I've had these doubts all day, I wasn't even able to sleep last night.

"Don't worry, take a deep breath dude. Everything will be just fine. Stop going to the worst case scenario. I know my sister and I know you, everything will work out just right" She said keeping both her hands on my shoulder.

"It's just that... I love her and I badly want this to work out you know? " I say and look up. Something flashes in her eyes for split of and second and then she straightenes up.

"Shoot! It's getting late, I need to go get ready and bring shanaya too. I should leave, go and get ready yourself, people will start showing up anytime now. And stop worrying" She said already walking go leave, I give her a confused look for a second.

"Thank you and be on time" I yell at her fading figure.

"I'll be on time with your wife to be my friend" I hear her say, before she's gone. I smile and myself and make my way to see the final decorations before leaving to get ready.

So, here is the first chapter and this one is fully edited. God! It was so awful like I love this story, it's one of my babies but the way I first wrote it was kinda shitty. I hope this one is better. Anyway, hope y'all enjoy Ahana, Aaryan and Shanaya's journey.
