My Summer Lasted 5 Seconds

I wake up to my phone vibrating on the nightstand, so I pick it up.

2 New Messages From: Lynn

Lynn: How's Ashton? :)

Lynn: I need your help... Sapphire just found Luke with a 19 year old brunette from her past... May's already tired of Calum. What do I do? In the cafeteria. Help!

I slip out of the hotel room and down the hall to the elevators. Of course she needs my help, I think. I'm the only one not pouting and annoyed.

"Kenzie!" Lynn exclaims. "What the hell took you so long? I was starting to get worried!"

"I came as soon as I could," I state. "Am I literally the only one not crying or agitated?"

"Yeah. You know what dumb ass Michael did?" Her voice is calm, a lot more than I expected it to be. She has had a crush on him for as long as I could remember, it's how we met.

I shrug. How am I supposed to know?  I think, He's stupid. But, I honestly say nothing, because as she may agree, she might also be offended.

"He exploded sugar on the carpet," Lynn states, as if it isn't anything. Like to her it's normal.

"How the hell did he do that?" I ask. No wonder she's annoyed. But why's May annoyed? Well, it's Calum. I'm afraid to ask.

"He was trying to make coffee."

"With what? The floor?" These men are stupid. But, practically the whole world knows that by now. At least, they should by now.

Lynn laughs. "I don't know. I woke up to it."

I give her a glare and say, "If you . . . 'Woke up to it . . .' Then you should most definitely know."

Lynn smiles, saying, "What about Sapphire?"

"Tell her, 'Your beautiful. Nothing will ever change that. Don't ever let any guy put you down like this.'"

Lynn nods and a grin quickly appears and disappears, procrastinating. "Thanks. I hope it works." 

"I do, too." I say, just before glancing quickly at May.

(Only 2 minutes later)

"Okay, May. When you got to your hotel, what did you see?" I say skeptically.

May's eyes widen, "I saw Calum, in his underwear, dancing on the bed, singing Blank Space, and jumping all over the place."

I nod and my cheeks catch flames, "Interesting."

"Interesting? No, not at all."

I smile, "Maybe not to you . . ."
