I sit in my seat and sigh. I hate airports. So many queues and so many stressed people. But I don't think anyone gets more stressed than my dad. At one point he actually nearly had an argument about signs when a member of staff told us that we were at the wrong gate. We had all tried to tell him that he was going the wrong way but did he listen? I sigh again as I try to clear all thoughts of dad and his moods out of my head.

"What the hell is up with you?" Jess asks, a little too loudly. I sink down in my seat as I feel several people look our way.

"Nothing, Jess. Just keep your voice down, we are and will be on a plane for the next 2 hours. We are not going to be the annoying family that has an argument.....again" I add quietly.

"Fine" she says rolling her eyes and sliding her headphones from her neck to over her ears.

"You're gonna have to take them off while we take off you know" she doesn't heir me. She is already bobbing her head in time with the music.

I sigh again and sit back in my seat. I close my eyes, even though I know I have no hope of getting to sleep. We woke up way to early this morning, and to make it worse, as soon as we get there we are getting our skis and going straight on the slopes. As if getting back into the swing of skiing wasn't hard enough.

I open my eyes as a group of people walk past me in the aisle. They all have their hoods up and they all begin to ascend the stairs to first class. As the last one is about to head up the stairs he pauses with his foot on the first step, and looks around. I recognise his blond hair and sharp cheekbones instantly. His eyes look searchingly around the cabin. But then they rest on me. He smiles at me and winks, as if to say, I told you. I can't help but let a smile spread its way across my face. He then continues up the steps, taking two at a time with his long legs.

It probably takes me fifteen minutes to get the smile of my face. But it's not just him that is making me smile; it's the escape from my family that he might offer. God I hope we are going to the same resort.

"Madam, I'm afraid you cannot have your headphones out during takeoff. And your seat must be in the upright position" The air hostess makes me jump out of my thoughts. She is talking to Jess, of course. But Jess can't heir her, of course.

"Sorry" I say on Jess' behalf. I then yank her head phones of, grab her phone, disconnect them, press the button to make her seat pop up, and shove her head phones in my bag before shoving it under the seat in front.

"Thank you" Says the air hostess smiling. I look over to Jess, who is scowling at me.

"What was that for?" she asks

"I was only doing what the airhostess told you to do. But of course, you where to busy listening to music to loud to even heir her."

"You had no right to-"

"You can get everything back after the seat belt sign goes off" I interrupt before she makes a scene. She doesn't complain anymore, just crosses her arms and goes into a strop, refusing to look anywhere near me. What a fun plane ride this will be.

The take off was extremely ruff. We left the ground at least three times before we actually managed to take off properly. As if my nerves weren't bad as it was. I keep my eyes firmly shut to avoid looking out the window and seeing the ground quickly disappearing. And to avoid feeling as if I'm going to throw up. But at least we got seats in the middle isle, despite the fact that I am in the seat next to the isle, there for closest to a window and being sucked out of it if it breaks. I take a deep breath and try to calm my nerves. After, what feels like eternity, I heir the seatbelt sign ping of. Almost immediately I feel an elbow in my side, and am forced to open my eyes in order to get jess' stuff out my bag.
