It was now Wednesday of the second week of school. Delia had learned where mostly everything in the school was on her own and had managed to make one "friend" named Molly, but she missed Asher. They hadn't spoken since the first day of school and Delia had started driving herself to school instead of getting a ride from Ash.

Delia would constantly catch herself checking her phone for a text or message from Asher but all she was greeted with was a blank lockscreen and a picture of Asher and her at homecoming last year flashed up at her. She was still sort of mad at Ash but she wished that he would just come and apologize already. After a week; though, she just figured that he wasn't going to and that their friendship was officially over.

She sat on a fluffy beanbag in her large room which was located on the 2nd floor of her huge 2-story house. Delia was reading some fanfiction about her favorite band 5SOS and daydreaming that the girl in the story was really her, when her thoughts were interrupted by a faint knocking noise. She closed her Macbook and walked downstairs to the office where the security cameras were.

It was the worried face of Asher and some flowers that she saw on the monitor for the front door. She swiftly ran out of the office in her socks and slid over to the door; almost slipping in the process. As she skidded to a stop with the use of the door handle, Delia put on a straight face and opened the big wooden door. She felt butterflies in her stomach as their eyes met and Asher gulped.

"H-hey..." said Asher nervously.

"Hi," Delia said and offered a small smile, "What are you doing here?"

"Oh...um," Asher took a deep breath, "I'm here to apologize."

"For?!"

"For last week.. on the first day.. when I..."

Delia licked her lips and stared down at his blue t-shirt and jeans. "What a typical outfit for him to wear to my house." she thought to herself. She didn't know what to say and looked back at his face and stared at him for a long time. They just stared at each other and stood there for about a minute or so awkwardly.

"Well...?"

"Well...just come in already wow." Delia grabbed his hand and dragged him inside.

He held out the roses (her favorite flower) in a stiff sort of way as if giving her a peace offering. She took them from his hand and set them on a nearby table. Delia turned around and in one swift movement she was tackling him and hugging him. At first he was surprised but then they sort of melted into each other and they moved over to the couch and cuddled there for a while in silence; just thinking how lucky they were to be best friends. Delia missed this so much and felt a good, warm feeling inside. She suddenly felt safe and happy all at once.

"It's okay." Delia said.

"Wha- oh okay."

They both sat up and smiled at eachother for a longer time than "just friends" should and their faces got closer. Delia's stomach began to turn as they leaned in for a kiss. Her mind was screaming and she smiled as their lips met. It was a good, long kiss and Delia noted that Asher's lips were very soft and seemed perfect. They just sat there kissing for a few minutes until Delia suddenly realized what was happening. Her eyes popped wide open and she tried to gently pull away so she wouldn't offend Asher or anything.

He gazed up at her with a confused look on his face. "Did I do something wrong?" he asked.

"Well, no but we just..."

"Just what?"

"Well we're best friends right?"

"Yeah...and?"

"Aannddd this," she made a circular motion with her hand in front of her, "won't work since we are best friends."

"Unless...we uh...were more than friends." Asher blushed and looked down at his hands on his lap.

Delia looked at him in shock and her mind seemed to slow down. In fact, time itself seemed to slow down right at that moment. She had never ever thought of her and Asher being "an item" but the more she thought about it, the idea seemed more and more appealing. Honestly, she had always thought Asher was pretty cute but she hadn't ever thought of him as boyfriend material! Ugh! This was a tricky situation. If she said that they were more than friends, it could possibly compromise the friendship and make things more awkward; however, if she said no, he would probably be really offended and hurt, and she could possibly be missing out on a really great relationship.

She chose to say that they were more than friends. Delia was going to go for it and see what happened.

"Yeah I guess we could be..." said Delia somewhat confidently.

Asher looked up and smiled. "Well okay then." and they both sort of just knew that they were now officially dating. Delia's mind whirled as Asher pulled her in for another sweet kiss. She couldn't comprehend the situation and her mind clouded over with thoughts of Asher and his super soft lips and she ran her hand along his sharp jawline. She smiled and leaned in for more. This was definitely the best apology she had ever gotten in her life.
